I had no idea this was published by Sony for the Vita. Telltale was a company that had a bad rep in the industry for the lack of gameplay, but despite that they were still selling very well, people wanted those easy plats.
I have never played a Telltale game myself, but I know people that have, and they usually seem to be satisfied with the experience.
I imagine the reason the company went down wasn't because of the lack of sales, but someone at the top wasn't administrating the financial resources in benefit of the company, and that's what ultimately brought it down. It's the only explanation that makes sense considering all the mainstream acceptance and promotion this company had in the gaming industry already in the very short amount of time it existed.
For me that acceptance and promotion was the result of the people behind the company who apparently were part of the LucasArts team, who were already recognized as people competent in terms of visual artistry and compelling aesthetics when it comes to game design, which made logical the transition to this type of game, more focused on storytelling similar to comics, which is the vibe you would normally get from the visual works of LucasArts on their game titles.

I'm not big on point and click games or visual novels. I only have a select few that I like and the games from Telltale in particular never appealed to me. Recently I've watched some streamers play these games and they're not so bad when you can watch someone else play them.
I've tried out the Xbox 360 and Vita versions myself, and while I didn't care much for it on Xbox 360, the Vita's touch screen controls actually made it a bit better. It just felt more natural to literally point and click in a point and click game. The normal controls on Vita worked just as well as they did on Xbox 360, but I had heard touch controls was the way to go in these games, so I gave it a try and I have to agree, these games do indeed play slightly better with touch screen controls. It's not enough to make me a fan, but it's enough that I'm considering playing through them on Vita. The visuals have been slightly technically downgraded from the console counterparts. Still maintaining everything needed to tell the story and show character emotions just fine. Personally I think it looks better having cut down on some of the visual effects. The console and PC versions had too many effects that clashed with the art design in my opinion, and I always thought they looked bad as a result, so for me the Vita version fixes this and I prefer how it looks over any other versions. A minor downside would be the audio compression. It wasn't even noticeable when playing in portable mode and the voices sounded clear and it was always easy to hear what they're saying, so it wasn't an issue or anything, but when I played on my TV with the audio hooked up to my sound system, the voices kinda sounded a little like they were coming from a wooden box and the subwoofer was not put to much use. Not a big deal and by no means a deal breaker for a version meant to be played portable, but worth mentioning.
As for the Switch version, I'm not fond of the visuals at all and the fact it's only been released digitally is exactly the modern kind of bullshit I hate. The audio is richer but had I wanted to play this on console I would've just gone for the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions many years earlier instead.
A very easy win for Vita with this one.
