Hey, stratogustav. Do us all a favor and pin this, would you? It's obvious Balder isn't up to it. Sounds like Balder is trying to get you a promotion. Is that so? Are you willing to take it?

I love it, and consider it the best of the Evil Dead movies for having a better balance between horror/comedy/action - also, it's here that Ash is defined as the mix of badass and stupid that he is known for. Army of Darkness is also great, but definitely more of an action/comedy with very few horror elements; the first movie, on the other hand, is more of a goofy horror flick. The Evil Dead Remake is better on the horror part, has good action but barely any comedy and no Bruce Campbell. I like all of them, but Evil Dead 2 has just the perfect balance. By the way, the Ash vs Evil Dead series is really good, especially for having Lucy Lawless in a major role. You can't beat having Xena in your series. cobretti - Most of Duke Nukem's "humor" is just quoting Evil Dead and They Live. Duke Nukem 3D is a great game because of the fast action and good level designs, but the Duke character is really just a bad ripoff. Has anyone played any of the Evil Dead games? None of them looked interesting to me, except for having Bruce Campbell reprising his role, so I don't know if they're worth playing.

Ash vs. Evil Dead ended up being everything I wanted from that series. And Lucy Lawless is great. Wasn't Xena produced by the people who made Evil Dead? It's been a long time since I watched that show. I'm pretty sure Bruce did several guest appearances in it. And Bruce did do a short cameo in the remake. It was a post credit scene where he says "groovy". I only played Fistful Of Boomstick. It wasn't a bad game. It wasn't a great game either. It's big problem was it wasn't very good at giving you hints on what to do. I would recommend it for Evil Dead fans but I don't think anyone else would like it.

cobretti - Yes, same producers on Xena (Robert Tapert and Sam Raimi). Bruce played Autolycus in a few episodes and was immediately one of the best characters. Another main actor from Xena that appeared in AvsED was Ted Raimi (he was also in the Evil Dead movies), so these people really like working together. I even remember Bruce, Lucy and Ted all appeared in the Sam Raimi's Spider Man movies. The short cameo wasn't enough to say that Bruce was in the movie, but I found it cool because it gave me hope that Ash would appear in a sequel - then they ended up making the series, which was even better.

Do you want to get into the argument that Evil Dead 2 isn't a sequel, but a bigger budget re-imagining of the first one?
Cus it is...

scipioafricanus - I say it's both. Its beginning is a reimagining, then it becomes a sequel. EDIT: Thanks for the link, cobretti. Nice to see Bruce talking about it.

I bought the whole trilogy including the TV show on Blu-Ray and so fsr I've seen the first two movies. Here's my thoughts on the second one:
"This movie is just as great as people who rave about it says it is. An undoubtedly masterpiece of the horror genre. Evil Dead II almost feels like a remake of the first Evil Dead, but it is still original enough to where it does not feel like a copy. It expands upon things from the first movie and the new stuff it brings to the table is fantastic. There are so many awesome scenes in this movie and I honestly thought it was longer than 1 hour and 30 minutes because it is so dense with fun. The creatures and effects are great, the blood and gore are over the top fun and overall this shit is hilarious. Love it." 5/5

I've heard that there's a fan-edit in which they turned the three movies into a single one (I'm guessing they mixed Evil Dead's ending with ED2's introduction and chose the Army of Darkness introduction over the ED2 ending to keep the continuity; if they did this after the tv show premiered, they probably kept the "Hail to the king" ending to tie in with the show). Has anyone seen it? I'll see if I can find.
