I don't understand the comparison you're making. You said that your prior experience with a concussion makes watching a fight movie too triggering, and yet a fighting game seems to be safe. That's all. You're comparing realistic live action to animation, two things which have no relationship with one another. |

Just watched this thing. The final fight is on the 25th of December, so this is also a Christmas movie just like the original.
"Better than III but worse than II, Rocky IV is ridiculous but it also carries a hell of a punch of a movie. Apollo Creed again has some awesome character development, and the villain who beats him gives him a worthy end, because damn Ivan Drago is terrifying and he does not need to talk shit to be so. I am impressed how this series continues to produce good villains for Rocky to fight. I love the throwback to Rocky I Creed with his costume, song and catchphrase. The montages in this movie are so great. A different, but awesome soundtrack goes well with it. I love the USA - Soviet Union differences in training and fighting. However it gets a little bit too much American propaganda towards the end. A fun movie, but nothing will ever come close to the original it seems." 3.5/5

Just watched this thing. The final fight is on the 25th of December, so this is also a Christmas movie just like the original. Now watch Rocky Balboa next. Rocky V is not real. The abomination is not talked about in my house. As a matter of fact, Rocky V does not exist. Do not watch that movie. |

My review of Rocky V: "Oh man, I knew this movie was going to be bad, but my god does did it shit the bed. It starts of fairly good except for the incredibly lazy writing about how Rocky loses his money due to some fucking tax shit (I feel like this has happened before, like what the fuck). The flashbacks to Micky is easily the best part of this movie, and everything else is just bad. Paulie seems to have lost all his character development, Union Cane was a red herring and a terrible character, Tommy Gunn was never likeable and easily the worst villain in the franchise, the soundtrack sucked and there were no good fights in the whole movie. This movie seems like it wants to get back to the humble roots of the first movie, but it failed in every regard. Despite knowing it was shit, it still managed to piss me off. It is watchable and not the worst movie ever, but for a Rocky movie this was just shameless." 1.5/5 |

It is like watching one of the new crappy Star Wars movies and expecting what the originals did. What a shame. Rocky Balboa is what V should have been. You will enjoy that one. Yeah, movies that are apart of successful franchises have a lot to live up to, and there are certain expectations they should live up to. Sequels have a lot of responsibilities to not fuck up previous movies. The new Star Wars movies (with the exception of VII in my opinion) are mostly garbage and shit over the franchise as a whole. I've lost almost all interest for more Star Wars now. What's weird with Rocky is that they have now 8 movies in the franchise, and its popularity has been resurrected with Creed, even scoring an Oscar nomination. |
