Balder - I agree with that and I know you've never complained about Patreon/Amazon (the comments I was referring to were on Youtube or in other forums, I don't think anyone over here had that kind of reaction). There was a time when Mark became very negative and started posting things on Youtube that were all jabs at bad commenters - but in the end, felt like jabs at the fans and even on his Patreon posts and Podcasts there was a lot of negativity. I still think he could've handled the migration much better if he wasn't so upset at Youtube: to date, I don't think he has even posted on Youtube an announcement of the migration or the trailer of the new series. Long time fans know about it, but people who casually discover CGR will think that the channel simply ceased, as it's not getting any new videos. I guess AVGN is doing a better transition in this regard: do a partial migration at first with a simple, sincere announcement that looks like an invitation to the new channel instead of a jab at Youtube. That said, Mark has been much more positive lately and the episodes themselves are more upbeat, so I guess he just needed to get out of Youtube - maybe all the videos being taken down and dwindling revenue were grinding his patience. I've just watched his new episode on Fire Emblem/New 3DS/Sega Nomad and it was very fun. You hit the nail on the head. This perfectly summarized how Cinemassacre handled things much better. I'll consider getting Amazon Prime if Mark has got his fire kindled again. Amazon Prime Video is actually available in Norway now. It sucks that it hasn't been released world wide. It makes no sense. It's fucking digital content after all.

I haven't watched the AVGN episode yet, but it's free to watch. It doesn't require a membership like CGR does. That's really cool of James.

I just watched the trailer for CGR 2085 on Prime. It looks pretty good. It's what CGR Mark III and IV should have been.
EDIT: Amazon Prime Video has been released to Norway, but a lot of the content is geo-restricted still? So AVGN is a no-go. What the fuck... Prime Video might be the worst video subscription site in history. Amazon is one of the biggest companies in the world and they can't make this work.

Yep, that is what I was complaining about - there is Prime in Brazil, but their content isn't available here either. Mark has said that they demand that you have subtitles in a specific region to make videos available there, and I don't think most creators will spend the money/work necessary to add portuguese subtitles. Until they sort this out, their content available in Brazil is too small and doesn't interest me in the slightest, so I'm not a subscriber. I'm watching CGR through Patreon itself (Mark also posts Vimeo links of the episodes over there), it's the only solution to international users. By the way, just as I was complaining about the lack of a trailer on Youtube, Mark releases a very good one!

What drives me nuts is that when Mark did it, most comments I saw about it were criticizing the decision and saying that CGR would go back to Youtube in the future anyway; now that AVGN has announced his own migration, most people suddenly decided that it is a great decision and screw Youtube etc. Oh God yes! That is what I was so mad about years ago. People were bitching about not having their content all in one place, because it was "such a pain in the ass to open up another app." I was so mad when I read those comments back then, and I'm still fuming about it now. How hard is it to support free content by using another platform. I am one of the few who actually didn't mind the Daily Motion app. Balder is right though. James probably is handling it a bit better though. He is probably hiding his frustrations to stay positive. Mark didn't, because he was just done with YouTube's shit. I mean hell, when you mess with someone's livelihood, what do you expect? The shooting at YouTube HQ tends to make you wonder if any of the plastic CEOs in this world have rethought their policies.

It was fine of Mark to complain about YouTube if he didn't do it in everything he did. He should have kept to a minimum like in an update video or a status report.

The 3DO episode is my favourite one yet. Not only there are a lot of both great and terrible games being shown("BALLZIFIED!"), but Mark also talks a lot about FMVs, music and his haircuts in the 90s. Great episode all around.

MeleeMonk - It wasn't properly a review of it (it was more of a review of the console itself), but he was playing it through the entire episode and making several comments and jokes about it, so I would count as a review. He ends up liking it despite knowing that he shouldn't.

MeleeMonk - He is rereviewing some of the consoles, and has already done so for the Genesis, Saturn, 3DS and 3DO. The new reviews are in a completely different style, so I'm glad he is doing it (think of something similar to Game Sack, where they talk at lenght about the console and then show a lot of games for it). Keep in mind the new episodes go for around 40 minutes, so it's very different from the original videos.

MeleeMonk - Yes, he does; he has reviewed Granada, Castlevania Bloodlines, Fire Emblem Awakening, Super Turrican, Zarlor Mercenary and a few others. On the consoles front, I forgot to mention the SNES Mini and Lynx.

I just watch some of the stuff on Youtube (which is virtually none at all by now), if it's only available elsewhere I won't see it. I sadly haven't played the 3DO version, but yes, I love Ballz 3D on Mega Drive, and while the Super Nintendo version is okay the Mode-7 ground texture is not aligned properly making the whole game look quite bad and unpolished as a result, had they just gone with a gradient ground like on Mega Drive it might've been the best of the two, seeing as they're so very similar otherwise.
