Game Discussion of the Week: Sid Meier's Civilization V

This isn’t Street Fighter.

I'd rather play any Street Fighter than any Civilization.

I heard only the first one was made by Sid Meier, all the others had other people in charge still based on Sid Meier's work. The first game was a massive hit I remember, alongside Doom, Diablo, Command And Conquer, and Duke Nukem.

Civ V is one of the most played strategy games for a reason. It's the only strategy game I can play well due to it's turn based and not real time. The game is very well made and incredibly addicting. It has that "just one more turn" feeling. I love how different all the civilizations feel. Also, this is one of those few games I've played with both my roommates. The only things that sucks is the length and that the late game can become tedious. It's not often I complete my games of civ, but I have played it for over 200 hours. 4/5.

It's definitely one of those games that takes a lot of time to get into. I must have played about 5 games (which are really long) before it got really fun.

I suck at them. Some people are so insanely fast at them. I usually never play PC games and I'm much slower than the average PC gamer. I've played Empire Earth with some of my PC gaming friends and they just kick my ass.
