The Tango and Cash thread reminded me that i needed to give my opinions on Road House. I watched Road House because of this thread and have mixed feeling about it.
The movie was absolutely fantastic from the action to the soundtrack which has an amazing cover of White Room. The movie was great until Sam Eliot showed up and turned it into a typical Sam Eliot film.
The guy has this cheesy laid back attitude where he pats himself on the back for a job well done for doing nothing, and it spreads through the whole film.
I mean Patrick Swayze was this untouchable character who can take on the entire town by himself, but just happened to get his ass kicked the same day Sam Eliot was coming to town just to have good old Sam save his ass in the typical Sam Eliot fashion. And the rest of the scenes he's in is just "Look at me I'm larger than Life Sam Eliot".
The movie Starts off on the high quality but turns to a cheesy cowboy movie once Sam Eliot enters the scene.

I'm guessing you're not a fan of Sam Eliot.

The Big Lebowski is another one with his "Some times you eat the Bar and some times the Bar eats you" which just means sometimes shit happens, but good old Sam Eliot makes it out to be the phrase of the century in which all philosophers live by.

I didn't care much about him in The Big Lebowski either. He's pretty good in Nocturnal Animals though.

I haven't seen Nocturnal Animals but Sam Eliot is good when the movie suits his type of acting and attitude.

I didn't care much about him in The Big Lebowski either. The whole movie is a train wreck, Goodwin is the only thing it has going for it.
