Ugliest Star Wars character design ever. I can't believe the talented artists behind the Star Wars prequels actually greenlit this character. One of the very few Star Wars designs I genuinely dislike.
I get the feeling that Lucas was over-excited with the new prospect of CGI at the time, which allowed for character designs that were previously unfessible in live action film, and so he naively allowed this atrocious creature into the film. That's my only guess as to how such a cartoony mess like Quadinaros made it into the film.

Can I nominate Sleazebaggano for next week? I feel like he’s under appreciated and not discussed as often as he should.
As for this guy, his gaunt appearance reminds me of the lead singer of Bauhaus. The bags under his eyes suggests he doesn’t get enough sleep.

Well, considering that art direction & special effects have both always been an enormous part of the success of Star Wars, I think it's important to highlight the few effects that didn't work, case in point: Quadinaro. Don't you enjoy critiquing art? |

Balder and Dan E. Kool - Does this one wins the "Most specific of the week thread" in the pub? My suggestion is that this one could just be made as a normal thread, called something like "Fictional characters you love/hate", so we would have a single thread to this discussion instead of a new one every week - I prefer having a single thread about fictional characters being updated constantly than the prospect of having a different new one every week filling the board. I think I am already satisfied with the Game and Movie of the week threads, and maybe those Handheld and Console wars too - some of the other discussions could just be normal ones, without polls or being something of the week. But that's me, it's just that these things have been getting more and more specific. Though I loved the one about Lucifer, that guy is the worst. About Quadinaros, it's among the things I don't remember about Episode I, which is about most of the movie. Seriously, I've watched it 3-4 times and can't even remember what the plot was about. Some nonsense about Lucas not wanting to pay his taxes or something.

They were something people could center around for a week while also doing whatever they wanted individually. For the record, only the game and movie weeklys get pinned due to them being the official weekly threads. MeleeMaestro can continue making these absurd threads, but I will question them. |
