Wow he actually gave it a decent Review (minus how he thinks the soundtrack lives up to the originals). I'm surprised he didn't say how the game was BETTER than the originals because of the GRAPHICS. I wish they would have used pixel graphics ala Double Dragon IV, but I don't mind the new artwork.

Oh no I meant i'm surprised Happy Console Gamer gave it s decent review without claiming it's better than the originals because of the updated Graphics. This guy has became a huge graphics whore over the years.

I had no idea, but usually the games I have seen him talking about aren't big on graphics, maybe he is referring to art style, or technical stuff like pixel clarity. Some people just call those things graphics too.

Just recently he claimed how the 3D remake of Secret of Mana 2 was better than the original because of the Graphics. Now all he seems to be is about the hype of a game and gets carried away. Always claims how the game surpass his expectations usually by commenting on how good the graphics are and then nether mentioning it again after after a month.

You can't beat pixel art, I haven't played those, so I can't possible know, but I would bet the original Trials Of Mana pixel art with its 16 bit soundtrack is likely the winner.

Actually got around to playing this game since my brother has xbox game pass. It's servicable, but I probably wouldn't buy it for 25$. The new characters are great additions and fun to play. The game's very short though, even for a beat em up. It has around the same amount of stages as Sor2, but each one is much shorter. I like how story mode resets your life count on each stage though, instead of going through the whole game at once.
I don't know what pisses me off more though, the lack of dashing or the arbitrary 2 player limit on online co-op. They took away dashing for every character yet kept it on Cherry for some reason, it doesn't work. My brother played as Cherry and we spent the entire game at opposite ends of the screen. I wasn't even aware of what he was doing half the time, doesn't really feel like co-op at that point. The 2 player online limit might be worse though. Just why? What was the thought process for this?

I saw something where you can use the dash if you use/unlocked a Streets of Rage 3 character.

Not trying to parrot that dillweed Dschult3 here, but HOLY HELL, TMNT SHREDDER'S REVENGE LOOKS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS is the game SoR 4 SHOULD have been! More faithful visual design, top-quality sprite work, no fan-fiction grade new character designs, no shitty flash animation, and a universal dash mechanic. I've never been interested in the Turtles franchise up until now, but this...is just incredible. This game would be a must-play for me if I had the money and a controller (i.e. the money). It's being developed by Tribute games, who made the awesome Scott Pilgram vs The World game over a decade ago, which explains why the sprite work is so sublime. TMNT Shredder's Revenge is shaping up to be the best beat-em-up of the 2020s. Fuck Sega for botching SoR 4 and shame on them for not getting Tribute games to develop it instead! If not Tribute games, then why not Revenge Labs? Or Dimps? As far as I'm concerned, even Mighty No. 9 was less of a disappointing fuck-up than SoR 4 was. Cervantes what do you think of this? You're a SoR fan aren't you? As a fellow SoR fan, do you agree or disagree with any of my points here when comparing these two games?

Pixel art would have been cool, but let's not forget many pixel games aim was to look like cartoons, so in many ways the most modern cartoon look of many of these games is the authentic vision their original creators had at the time, they just didn't have the hardware for it.

I haven't even played it yet due to a huge backlog that I'm trying to go through (I've finally beaten stuff like Onimusha, Okami, DOA 1-4 and Dark Souls 2, that were sitting unplayed for years). But frankly, from every video and review that I've seen, the game seems to be among the best recent 2d beat'em ups, top tier stuff. The chosen art style might be controversial for the series, but it's still nice looking in its own right and the gameplay seem to be no slouch either. I'm actually kind of excited to play it down the line, as soon as I have beaten some more of my backlog (there's Valkyria 4, Death Stranding, Shenmue 3 and other games that I'm prioritizing).

Souls games feel unfinished without all the achievements, but because those games have so much replayability with the games plus everyone end ups getting all the trophies.
