Armored Core Raven A shape-shifting blob movie would be great. I'm surprised I can't think of a movie that's already done it (other than T2). But it wouldn't have really fit in the McQueen movie here. This blob didn't seem particularly intelligent. It was just a blob.

I've rewatched the 80s Blob last week and that movie is still one of the most gruesome and fucked up things I've ever watched (one of the few movies that has the balls to dissolve a child). The effects held up surprisingly well, I can't believe I watched this as a kid! It's among the first horror movies I've ever saw - this one and Pet Sematary.

Found this movie at Dailymotion actually. Here it is if anyone's interested: www.dailymotion.com/video/x5et8gy Been wanting to watch this movie ever since Cinemassacre introduced me to it. Here's my review of it: "This is ann undoubtedly classic horror movie, and it is very much a period piece as it definitely shows its age. The Blob is such a cool concept. It is timeless, simple and yet highly effective. I love the idea of this ever growing blob that consumes everything. It looks really cool as well, and I had forgotten just how good those effects were. This is something that could never be translated into CGI. It would then look incredibly fake. It perfectly emboides the limits they had back then, and it has aged gracefully. Unfortunately we dod not get to see the Blob for that long as the film spends a lot of time with the characters, which is completely understandable if the characterswere any good. Do not get me wrong, Steve McQueen is quite awesome in this, and wish any of the other characters would come close this his level. The rest of the characters range from forgettable to plain awful. It is a movie that shows its age in how it presents itself. Slow paced, barely shows the monster due to limitations, that weird old movie way of acting and the abrupt ending. A forgotten gem of a movie nowadays, still watchable, still iconic." 3/5

I saw the 80s version when I was a kid. That movie was fucking gruesome. Its pretty hardcore. Oh man, those special effects! I never saw this one but the visual design looks incredible. It delivers on the violence, too. Looks much better than the shitty PG-13 "thrillers" I grew up with, like The Ring.
