Actually it's the other way around; people find a cure for diseases usually no more than 2 years after the outbreak begins, but there is still no known solution for climate change. You keep blabbering about how future technology will end global warming despite offering no evidence yourself, while also doing fuck-all to reduce your own carbon emissions. As someone who's highly interested in environmental science I really don't appreciate your patronizing efforts to downplay the issues I frequently raise about man made climate change, Balder. Losing a few thousand people to a virus is one thing but losing key pollinators like insects is enough to cause an ecological collapse, which would eradicate our food sources and end life on Earth. Mankind survived the bubonic plague, small pox, and so on, but the majority of life forms don't survive mass extinctions, and our planet has just begun to experience the largest mass extinction it has ever had. THAT is cause for alarm, not the corona virus. Just look around meleemaestro, what countries give a fuck about the environment? Is it the developing countries or the poor ones? Fuck no. Is it the developed and educated ones? Yes. You're privileged enough to live in a rich and educated enough country to even start caring about this stuff. If you lived in Africa or India, China or some other country like those, you wouldn't give it a second thought if you drove a gas powered vehicle or an electric one. Wrong again, numb-nuts. Go look at the link to the news article I just posted in my corona thread. India cares WAY more about helping the environment than the U.S. does; in that news article it even mentions that Trump has relaxed environmental protection in an attempt to boost the economy! It just goes to show that most first world citizens are more interested in sex, liquor, materialism, and the entertainment industry than helping the environment. Don't believe me? Just look at yourself, you lazy, materialistic sack of shit. You're so god-damned lazy that you aren't even willing to make the sacrifice of walking a block to catch a bus. You'd rather ride a car or a mobility scooter everywhere. You are an embarrassment, Balder. Anyway, as for my official reason for celebration today? Look here: www.marketwatch.com/story/airline-stocks-take-a-hit-after-boeing-ceo-warns-of-possible-industry-bankruptcy-2020-05-12?mod=market-snapshot"Airline CEO warns that the corona virus pandemic will drive the first US airline company to bankruptcy within the next few months" C O O L ! ! Ha ha, now that's what I call karma!

This grease monk is privileged enough to live in a country where he can afford to be environmentally conscious. Regular people in India, China, the Middle East etc. don't give a fuck about the environment. Many of these people shit, wash their clothes and themselves all in the same river. I don't blame them though since there isn't a lot they can do about it since the infrastructure isn't there for them to do it any other way, but telling me they care more about the environment is a blatant lie. I've lived in Qatar for about a year and people just throw shit in the desert without a second thought. We always brought back our garbage, but a lot of people from other countries hadn't even heard about recycling. The richer a country is, the cleaner energy and better recycling system will it have (in general, there are exceptions of course).

You're a citizen of the wealthiest country on the planet and you voted for a climate change denier who approves of the Dakota Access Pipeline, the Keystone Pipeline, the coal Industry, and dropped us out of the Paris Climate Accord. So what makes you think you're in a position to mock a third world country that has at least made the effort to adopt green energy on a nationwide level? You and Balder are the most hypocritical dumbasses on this board. You guys keep dodging the fact that the USA has THE HIGHEST PER CAPITA CARBON EMISSIONS OF ANY COUNTRY ON EARTH! Global warming is the deciding factor of whether or not Earth will remain capable of sustaining life. Garbage floating in a river is just a local issue by comparison; an issue that's much easier to fix, too!

It's funny yoy mention the coal industry since it's very common in countries like China and India. Meanwhile, Norway has not a single coal factory, not even a gas one. All of our electrical power comes from renewable sources.

All of our electrical power comes from renewable sources. Nope. If you actually had made the effort to read that BBC article that I mentioned in my other thread, you would have learned that India's coal usage has plummeted in the last few years, and is being replaced by wind and solar power, which are both cheaper and easier to maintain than coal, gas or oil. Here's the link again so you can read for yourself: www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-52614770The only country that has increased coal usage in recent time is the USA. You hear that, scipioafricanus ? No matter how much you try to cover it up, everyone that isn't a nationalistic american bigot knows that the US has done jack-shit to reduce carbon emissions. Scipioafricanus is just a retarded clown, though, so I don't even know why I bother debating with him. Oh, and Balder did you hear on the world news a while back that India is in the process over planting over a million trees in an effort to fight climate change? That's WAY more than most countries are doing about climate change. Don't be a pig. Give credit where it's due.

So it'd be interesting to compare how many trees they plant per citizen to other countries.

Psssst, he is also wrong on maintaining solar and wind is cheaper... the amount of birds they kill once installed is very messy and that isn't event counting the maintenance of the systems. Hey, did he ever find that story about Norway giving up their oil production?

Hey, did he ever find that story about Norway giving up their oil production? Climate change harms overall bird populations way more than wind turbines do. In fact, North America has already lost over 3 billion birds in the last 50 years from the effects of climate change. Read for yourself: www.npr.org/2019/09/19/762090471/north-america-has-lost-3-billion-birds-scientists-sayWind turbines only effect bird (and bat) populations at a local level. Global warming effects everything everywhere on Earth. Therefore green energy really is a worthwhile investment for the planet in the long run.
