The other night I had a dream. In this dream everyone on Earth had converted to veganism, and as a result areas that were once cow pastures and corn fields (to feed the cows) were repopulated by forest and prairie, and as a result many parts of the planet had been converted to wilderness.
Many marine species rebounded in population, and the rare vaquita was saved from extinction thanks to the fact that fish nets were no longer being used. Saw fish numbers rebounded and were also no longer on the verge of extinction.
It was glorious. Just glorious.

I hope we can keep at least a few of those corn fields. Corn is pretty dope, as far as grains go.

There's popcorn, corn bread, corn on the cob. Creamed corn. Corn pudding. Corn flakes. Corn chowder, corn dogs, corn chips. Corn stew. Tacos. Corn flour. Corn fritters. Hushpuppies, tamales, conkies. Corn tortillas. Nachos. Grits, champurrado, and don't forget chipa guazu.

I hope we can keep at least a few of those corn fields. Corn is pretty dope, as far as grains go. Most corn is used just to feed cows. The majority of cornfields in the US are for that purpose. Sweet (human) corn needs to be pruned and harvested differently. I know this because my neighbors growing up were farmers. |
