I know it's redundant of me to keep reviving this thread, but I simply MUST ask: has anyone else here seen either Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland or Steam Boy? Those are two examples of big budget anime that are much, MUCH worse than Final Fantasy The Spirits Within (assuming you consider Spirits Within a bad film).

Finally someone with a little common sense. There are so many worse anime out there than Spirits Within. And I can't believe Cervantes compared the quality of its storytelling/characterization with Avatar's. WTF?? In regards to the two anime I mentioned previously, I think it was rather harsh of me to rank Steam Boy alongside Little Nemo, because that would suggest Steam Boy is at the bottom of the anime barrel, which is far from the truth. I remember being extremely impressed by the production values and some of the character designs in Steam Boy when I saw it as a kid, it's just that I was underwhelmed by other aspects like the characters themselves and even the color scheme, which felt lackluster/uninspired. |

I was reading my copy of Guiness Book of World Records 2010 Edition and saw that Final Fantasy The Spirits Within was listed as the record holder for the title of highest polygon count for a character model in a 3D animated film; specifically, the one used for protagonist Dr. Aki Ross. Absolutely AMAZING that the film held that record for over 10 years! (perhaps it is still the record holder? Does anyone know?) Spirits Within, I proudly salute you for being a cutting edge, state-of-the-art film in 2000, undeniably the best of your kind for over a decade.  |

When you come to the US, we can go to the Galloping Ghost (http://www.gallopingghostarcade.com/). Then we can drive by the McDonalds where Melee is bitching about your interpretation of art while stealing their WiFi. In two years this can become a reality. I'm going to the US in the summer of 2021, and this sounds like an excellent idea. As someone who cares about Earth's atmosphere and is actively working on reducing his own carbon emissions, let me be the first to say:  I'm glad the corona virus pandemic is preventing climate change offending pigs like you from trashing up the planet with excess greenhouse gas just for the sake of recreation. Serves you right. Hopefully the 2020 recession will hit your savings hard enough that you'll be forced to cancel your travel plans for the foreseeable future. Not sure why you'd want to vacation in this dumpster-fire of a country, anyway. Says a lot about your taste. |

This must be peak MeleeMaestro material: he's attacking me about my plans to go to the US while spewing out climate change noise and calls my taste in things terrible in the Final Fantasy movie thread from the McDonald's parking lot where he stole WiFi to write this. Anyways, me on the other hands hope I'll have tremendous success with my savings to be able to rent the biggest and baddest gasoline powered vehicle so that I can cruise to whichever fine McDonald's establishment your stealing WiFi from so that I can laugh at you on your scooter while gorging on a greasy Big Tasty burger in front of your face while also saying that The Incredibles is better than that Final Fantasy movie nobody cares about. |
