Trying to cut down the amount of movies I watch

Got some more time on my hands to watch another Batman movie, and this is the last Batman movie from the time era I hadn't watched. Here are some of my thoughts on it:
"Batman Returns is pretty good, and I actually think I like it slightly more than the original. Batman is back to protecting Gotham from criminal scum, and this time we got the Penguin. Casting Danny DeVito as the Penguin was a great choice. He really gives life to that character even though all of the characters in this movie are slightly off. What I mean by this is that these characters act completely crazy most of the time. It is like Catwoman is an actual cat and the Penguin is an actual penguin. Michael Keaton is still a complete goofball as Bruce Wayne. He is such a geeky dork and he reminds me a lot about Bill Gates more than he does resemble a handsome rich man, but he gets the job done as Batman I guess, so it is fine for the most part. What I like about this movie more than the original is that the pacing is pretty good and I am never bored. It is entertaining all the way through. Glad to finally have watched all of the Batman movies from this period." 3.5/5 pretty tight stuff man.

I saw this thread was bumped and kinda figured someone posted this, if not I was going to. I watched Lethal Weapon last weekend and will probably do Batman Returns next weekend. They both feel more like Christmas movies to me than Die Hard does.

My official rating for this movie is 9.0 out of 10. These movies can easily be overlooked, specially with all the new technology we have, but if you actually put attention these movies are gold. I particularly like the romantic gothic style of Tim Burton movies in general. I love all his new 3D movies too. His new Dumbo movie even feels like part of the extended universe of these Batman movies because his style hasn't changed. There is a very artistic feeling in what he does, and in this movie it also translates to the way he develops the characters.
That part were Catwoman couldn't take it anymore and had to jump to kill herself was golden. The way he built up all the way to that part was musical, and then he makes it even more interesting by showing her reinventing herself with a new rebellious personality that opens up new possibilities she didn't have access before with her previous self. It is amazing writing to say the least.
I also like how he demonstrates that the people skills of the major, his sales ability, is what has been able to put him in that position where everyone praises him and are willing to submit to his guidance, which we also see in real life happening a lot. Those skills were so helpful even to save his own son that was at risk when kidnapped.
Then Danny DeVito excellent performance shows how an extremely traumatized child can turn into a legitimately liability to society to the point that he threatens all the established order with his strong character that with a different upbringing probably wouldn't have had.
Batman himself represents perfectly the upper class always scheming to protect his own ideas of society from common denominators affecting that order because that's the way he has decided society should be like. I believe that right there was a huge influence for Nolan shaping the Joker's character in his movie.
All these writers are indeed genius. I don't know if they got an Oscar, but they definitely deserved it, and also Tim Burton for the poetic delivery of these narrations with that incredible ambient atmosphere that can't be overlooked or forgotten.
