An alternate timeline where flying cars exist!

I have to disagree there by quite a lot, the dangers involved instantly become exponentially greater when you add into the elevation of airborne vehicles.

There aren't that many up there at the moment, so you have to add into it that every car owner then instead took to the skies in a huge balloon each, each and every blimp many times larger than any road legal vehicle, and that blimps are in fact a lot harder to control and more tricky to come to grips of how to control than a car, even at slower speeds and even for skilled pilots that have undergone proper pilot training by skilled pilot teachers there are still accidents.

Ad onto that if a blimp stops working high up, you're in a lot more trouble than if a car stops working on the ground as a blimp can be carried long ways with the wind and go down into dangerous terrain like straight into cold water far from land.

I'd love to see more blimps in the sky, but I don't think the average person should be up there.

Air busses in the form of zeppelins and blimps could be cool for more environmentally friendly cities and such, but it is more dangerous in the sky than on the ground by default because even at a minor altitude it can kill people if something goes wrong in so many more ways, so security would need to be a very high priority.
