Balder Bitter that because he did so much work in running the business which eventually became unsustainable. Yes, but nobody owed him anything despite putting in work. That's just the way she goes sometimes. Still, there are quite a few fans out there who'd appreciate it if he interacted with them from time to time. Absolutely. I will love to see some kind of update on his situation and what he's been up to or even a thank you for support through the year video. As for the bitterness I personally think Mark felt a little betrayed by his fans. Most of the comments in his 80's comics videos are just bashing him and expressions of disapproval. I think Mark hoped that a lot of his fans will support his comics and he'll make it big through that which didn't happen.

Yeah, but those were two different products. His fans came for funny retro reviews and carefree demeanour, not some niche comic that was unrelated (except for a few references to them). Besides, they would have wanted to see something more than just black and white doodles. If he called out for assistance, I would've put my hand up.

I myself didn't care much for anything after CGR too. Just pointing out that Mark himself had different expectations from his fanbase imo. I think he thought he was going to pull a lot of his followers to his comic books and everything was going to be hunky dory. Just a shame and a sad ending to a internet persona and a amazing fellow and his legacy.

If Mark is enjoying life away from the camera and stress of producing CGR, I'm happy for him. There are hundreds of hours of old material, so I don't feel at a loss if I want some classic CGR goodness.

Marks videos are timeless for us who were there from the beginning and he's made more than enough to make a playlist to come back to over and over again. His Musha and Revenge of Shinobi run are still the best reviews of the games to date which I still watch at least a few times a year.

Mark is still a brand, if he wanted to come back he could do it even if he was starting with nothing.
He can even just vlog with a cam and that would still pull patreons and views.
As long as it is video people would be down to listen to Mark about games, and other topics.
Although because his brand on YouTube is games, it would still have to be his focus, but people wouldn't mind if he goes on tangent sometimes, specially on anything 80s and 90s.

"Social media only rewards the extremes."
Mark is the man.
I wish he'd come around here to talk about his podcast. It looks like he did two episodes in 2018 and just decided to bring it back. I'd love for him to keep it up. I'd like to hear him with guests too. I remember hearing him on Pat Contri's podcast years ago, and it was great to hear his back and forth.

80s Comics was nice, I'm glad it's coming back. To be fair, I think I preferred when Mark reviewed manga (like Claymore and Gon), so I hope he doesn't really limit it to 80s comics as the title says. [EDIT: By the end of the podcast, he confirms manga and newer comics too.] Of course we all would prefer CGR, but it's good to know that Mark is making video content again.
