Seems to be slowing down now, $10million might require a good push. I wonder what this really might be at as I wouldn't be surprised if after a month or two many lower their $50+ pledges. 10 million? Yeah, I meant to say that. Only $992k more to go!

Hope the podcast will be downloadable as well, because I listen to podcasts when I'm driving, walking outside or when riding the bus.

I still haven't pledged (I will by the end of this week), but I'm pretty sure I'm going with the $5 pledge.
By the way, the podcast is a very nice idea and a good incentive to go for $5. The few times in which Mark interviewed someone were amazing, so I hope to hear more of that on the podcast.

I wonder if he'll use something other than Skype? His past interviews were really good but the guests sounded really... off at times. It could just as easily be an issue with their connection, though.

If Mark gets Dave back for the podcast, the money will literally fly out of my wallet.
For that matter, I think Classic Game Room should be a half hour long show with Mark and Dave talking about multiple games. Like it was back in the day (or like how Game Sack is now).

"Exclusive podcasts" is a poor incentive when the podcasts are linked through email/patreon notices. The few times I do play a podcast, it's done through my 3DS Youtube subscription feed. Also, as glad as I am that people can and do support CGR on Patreon, I do not like how every video has begun to revolve around the patrons. Suddenly, if you're a nonbacker, you're not significant to CGR. I dislike this sort of line-drawing especially considering as to how much I contributed to CGR via Kickstarter and their store merch. I've seen Patreon compromise the integrity of Youtube channels and while Mark upkeeps his energy and wildness, I hope that he does not let crowdfunding get in the way of his content creation, otherwise, I'd have preferred to see the channel continue as a hobby.

I think he's just mentioning the backers a lot because A) He's surprised at how well it worked B) He'd like it to pass the $10,000 mark
He'll probably work out a nicer way to dispense the backer content.

Keep in mind, we're still pretty new into this crowdfunding era for CGR, teddykongcountry. I don't think Mark lacks any gratitude for folks who bought merch previously. He definitely mentioned the kickstarters a lot when they were still going on, brought up the store a lot when they introduced merchandise, or when it was closing out last year. Thanking backers isn't an implicit insult to those who haven't chosen to back the Patreon. I can't really picture Mark seriously insulting anyone intentionally...except of course people who steal his footage for top 10 videos.
I think Mark's still a bit gobsmacked that this funding model, which fans suggested to him, seems to be viable. I don't mind him mentioning a fair bit at this stage. This is the point where he's probably going to attract the most long-term backers. There's likely to be a drop off somewhere down the line, so best to build things up now.
Keep in mind, none of his first month of donations even come out until the beginning of February, so everything listed there right now is theoretical money. We don't know what percentage of pledges are going to be rejected or otherwise dry up going into month 2.
That said, I've mentioned this on the Patreon page as well, I'm not crazy about Patreon-exclusive content. I'd be cool if the few extended cut reviews, the podcast, etc, were available freely to all CGR fans. I'd happily continue backing it regardless. If he wants to give them as a bonus to patreon backers, I'd prefer them as timed exclusives. Similar to how he's keeping all reviews ad-free for the first two months now, it would be nice to see the podcasts release free to everyone maybe a month or two after they come out for backers. That would probably allow him to more easily use normal methods of podcast distribution.

I think it's important Mark recognizes his patreons. These are people who pay for content which used to be free. And that content is so damn good, I'd say it's def worth 5 bucks a month.
