People need food, don't they? Only evil white supremacists eat meat so fuck them, hasn't melee taught you that already?

-The pandemic has officially hit the meat industry here in the states! This means greenhouse gas emissions will further decrease now that (for the time being anyway) farmers aren't breeding livestock as much. Noice! Unfortunately that idiot Trump is putting human lives at risk by using his executive power to force meat production plants to stay open. What an ass. People need food, don't they? As a vegan I can confirm that humans don't need meat to survive.

www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-52614770"India's carbon emissions begin decreasing, a first since 1982" According to the news, India is seeing an overall decrease in carbon emissions through a combination of reduced per-capita electricity usage and green energy sources, but it was the corona virus shutdown which began the country's first decline in carbon emissions in almost 40 years. I am crying tears of joy right now. :') This means so much for our planet's well-being, and I am so incredibly impressed by India's efforts to combat climate change. Corona virus didn't make this glorious phenomenon happen; India's government did! Congrats India! Way to take initiative!

news.yahoo.com/global-carbon-emissions-dropped-17-150000678.htmlAccording to the latest news headlines, the global shutdown following the coronavirus outbreak has massively reduced mankind's 2020 carbon footprint, just as I predicted. According to this article, humanity's overall carbon emissions in 2020 are on par with Earth's overall carbon emissions from 2006, 14 years ago, which is AMAZING considering that there were hundreds of millions of less people on Earth at that time. Scientists warn that carbon emissions will spike once the pandemic ends, however, returning to the "normal" rate of emissions present before the shutdown began early this year, where it will continue to increase as before So it seems like the global shutdown will make little impact on global warming in the long run.

You're the type who would cheer on a world war dude just because it reduces the population.

Somehow, I don't think he's afraid of dying.

You're the type who would cheer on a world war dude just because it reduces the population. What in Sam's Hill makes you think World Wars reduce mankind's carbon footprint? It's the other way around, pilgrim. There's a reason why America has the largest carbon footprint of any country on Earth, and our military (the highest-funded on earth) is largely to blame. Remember when I brought up the fact that the pentagon produces over a ton of toxic waste per minute in my facts about the USA thread? So no, war doesn't EDIT: Never mind the above text, I just realized that I misread "population" as "pollution". My bad. Nope, war is horrible and I don't support it. There are no heroes or winners in warfare. Everyone loses. EDIT 2: My point in my OP was that I was celebrating the inactivity that the Covid pandemic created in society (i.e. less air travel, less driving, etc.), NOT the loss of human lives.

There are no heroes or winners in warfare. Everyone loses. Except maybe the arms dealers.

news.yahoo.com/pandemic-projected-lasting-effect-global-132618611.html"Global oil demand is slated to rise above pre-pandemic levels over the next few years but nonetheless remain lower than it would have been absent COVID-19's emergence...The pandemic is certainly having a lasting effect — its mid-decade demand estimate is 2.5 million barrels per day lower than the growth level expected before the crisis."YES! YES! YES!
The Covid pandemic doomed the oil industry and I couldn't be any happier!!!

The Covid pandemic doomed the oil industry and I couldn't be any happier!!! :,> I'm currently writing a master thesis on oil, and I just read an article that was published yesterday that the demand of oil is only temporarily lowered and is expected to rise back to normal levels as high-income countries are getting vaccinated. And the fact that a lot of Asian countries are expected to have economical growth, that too is going to increase the demand for oil. The article is in Norwegian, so I doubt it's worth posting, but it's just weird that these two were posted the same day, but with completely different outcomes.
