I watched the tv show back in the day, which was really good and supported the plot/theme far better than a movie (exploring the history of an immortal through various episodes). Then this movie came out...
Michael Ironsides puts on a Raul Julia performance from Street Fighter the Movie in here.
stratogustav This is a BAD movie, but Lambert, Connery, and Ironsides are good in it. The sequel with Adrian Paul was much better. |

Yeah, anything with Lambert is a must watch for me. The show was spectacular, one of the best TV shows of all time.

I definitely want to discuss Highlander 2. It's just that we're breaking tradition by not discussing horror movies in the horror month. I haven't seen Highlander 2, but I heard it's awful. I'll definitely watch it though since it's available at tubi.tv. |

I watched this the other day. I can't believe it's been over a year since we discussed it. It wasn't that bad of a movie to be honest. Here's a review:
"People make Highlander II out to be one of the worst sequels of all time. It has even in some cases won this detested award, however, is it really that bad? Is even the first Highlander movie really that good? The answer to both of these questions are no. This is just a mediocre and poorly written sequel. The original movie, while mostly good, is far from a perfect movie. This sequel film has a lot of the same good elements from the original like the great soundtrack by Queen, a returning cast of characters which includes Sean Connery and it tries to expand upon the Highlander mythology, albeit in a slightly retarded way. The main problem with the film is that the writing is dog shit for the most part. There are so many subplots that do not tie together and the Ozone layer main story dates the film so incredibly to the early 90's. The fight scenes are choppily put together needed a lot of improvement, but it is alright I guess. While not nearly as good as the first one, I cannot for the life of me see why people would regard this as the worst sequel of all time." 2/5

It happens, specially with sequels, but then again the second Mortal Kombat movie has bad rep, and all the criticism are usually the reasons why I like that movie, but I understand why it isn't likeable for others, maybe this is another of those situations because I really like Highlander, and everything regarding Highlander, including the music related to it.
