Man, those area such great news, I have been a massive fan since I saw the parting of the red sea when I was a kid. I had no idea this was happening. Thank you for the information, I'm definitely going to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

Wuthering Heights was not something I expected to hear today. Personally, I found it boring but interesting choice nevertheless.

Wuthering Heights was not something I expected to hear today. Personally, I found it boring but interesting choice nevertheless. Yeah, many of these are pretty controversial, but if I was going to be critical and knowing we can never be unbiased, I figured I would go with the films that touched me. Wuthering Heights is quite emotional for me personally, and the whole paranormal premise of the film enhances it even more. I do hate the other versions though because they never were able to capture that surreal and poetic feeling of the 1939 version. Surreal and poetic are the words I would describe the film with, but emotional at the same time, I guess I really got into the movie. I do like other films of the time like Gone With The Wind, and even The Wizard Of Oz, but none of those films touched me as much as Wuthering Heights did. I have to admit that in real life I'm quite jealous in the good way of Laurence Olivier because he actually married Vivian Leigh who I consider the most beautiful woman in film's history. Even more than Hedy Lamarr, Ava Gardner, Audrey Hepburn, Olivia Hussey, Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Bo Derek, Ursula Andress, Brigitte Bardot, Raquel Welch, and Lynda Carter, that I also consider extremely attractive. I guess it has a lot to do with her facial mannerisms, but she is really number one for me. So you would say it would be hard for me to choose a film with him in it because of that reason, but the film is so good to me that I just had to choose it. I'm actually surprised that was your controversial pick. I was expecting something more fruity like Bamby to be called out, but in terms of animation and having a compelling unforgettable story I had to go with it. I do love Fantasia, and Pinocchio, but Bambi really nails it for me. Also Tenet because of: Those guys did a great job, I thought that was a really funny review. However I like so much the premise of the film specially considering how much it coincides with the quantum eraser experiment, that I couldn't just not mention it. The film is quite new, so it is hard to tell how much it would hold up for me in the future, and I do agree with the critiques, but that music man. Plus, it made me feel smart for understanding everything on the first watch, so I give it extra points for that small ego boost.

I do like that you put a list of movies that are in a league of their own. Those movies are pretty much The Pub's favorite movies.

By the way, I just noticed I missed a movie on the first top 10, LOL! So assuming everything moves up, the last one for that list is either Gravity 2013 or Roma 2018. Either one is fine because I actually like both films about the same.

Roma is incredibly beautiful, but the story was underwhelming, and Gravity was a fun showcase movie, but it hasn't left a lasting legacy.

Awesome! Children of Men is the best movie from Cuaron. Roma is incredibly beautiful, but the story was underwhelming, and Gravity was a fun showcase movie, but it hasn't left a lasting legacy. I need to see Children Of Men again, the last time I watched it was like 10 years ago, and it didn't have that WOW factor of the other 2 movies. Gravity was technically impressive, and Roma I'm not sure if I can describe the feeling, it's like watching real life from inside someone else's brain. I do love Gravity. I think it is the best movie for home theater that exists, but I probably would have to choose Roma since Space Odyssey is already there anyway. By the way dude ( stratogustav ), did you buy badges to ProBoard for us? You're an all-time champ dude.
Yeah, I just got the 25 bucks package, so they only gave me a few things. I tried to cover everybody with what they gave me. Some users don't usually post, but they check, so I tried to cover those too. This was the first time they ever asked for a donation, so I thought it wasn't a big deal. I have see a lot of movies now, but there are still 26 movies here that I have not seen... That's not too bad, all things considered, my movie backlog is insane and I do watch a lot of movies.

You know Balder got me intrigued when he said some of my choices were interesting, so I started digging who made them, and now it really makes sense why I end up liking these movies. I found out that it is because the people behind them are big names in the movie making scene, so no wonder those movies came out the way they did. For example Wuthering Heights is made by William Wyler, who is the one that made Ben-Hur. That's the only movie that for almost 40 years had 11 Oscars until Titanic came out. From 1956 to 1997 there are a shit ton of amazing movies, but no one was able to dethrone Ben-Hur, not even close. So now it makes sense why Wuthering Heights came out so spiritual too. Bambi had an insane amount of Disney masterminds behind it. The Ten Commandments was made by the master of spectacle Cecil B. DeMille. 2001 Space Odyssey was made by Stanley Kubrick who made other amazing stuff like Spartacus, and The Shinning. American Graffiti is made by the creator of Star Wars, George Lucas which makes sense considering how his movies always have some kind of vehicle friendship adventures. Blade Runner was made by Ridley Scott who made Hannibal, Gladiator, Alien, and many other hits. Heat is Michael Mann, who may not be as famous as the others, but man what a movie. He perfectly put together so much talent that pretty much marked most action films after it. Catch Me If You Can not only has Christopher Walken, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tom Hanks, it is made by not other than Steven Spielberg. Rome we talked, it was CuarĂ³n. I also made mentions of Robert Zemeckis, Francis Coppola, and Paul Verhoeven. Fight Club is David Fincher the guy from Se7en. The Matrix are the Wachowskis. RoboCop is Paul Verhoeven again. Terminator 2 is James Cameron. The Dark Knight is Christopher Nolan. The Empire Strikes Back is Irvin Kershner. The Great Gatsby is Baz Luhrmann from Moulin Rouge. There's Something About Mary is by the Farrelly Brothers, which by the way are from Rhode Island which is the State where I graduated from High School, so no wonder I connect with their stuff. The Truman Show we covered just like In Time. 300 and Man Of Steel are Zack Snyder, which by the way Man Of Steel is so crazy underrated because people don't notice the good stuff, but that's a topic for another thread. Tenet is Nolan's. Shallow Hal is the Farrelly Brothers again. And Rush is Ron Howard. So looking this up really clarifies things for me. It makes sense that I like multiple movies by the same people before knowing who made them. For example I love RoboCop, Total Recall, and Basic Instinct, and I had no idea it was the same guy. I guess that's just how things are, once you understand why you like something, it is easy to find other similar works that you would also love because of how they make things. For example I really loved this movie called Apocalypse Now that I recently watched, and it happens that the same guy who made it, is also the guy from The Godfather, so no wonder I end up liking it so much. It is very interesting indeed once you do a little digging and find out these things.

Of course there are big names behind the movies you like because most likely, you're going to end up liking movies a lot of other people also like, and when a lot of people like something, that tends to make the people behind that something successful. You could pretty much use this argument for any person's favorite movie list.
