Excellent work, Centipede. Excellent, excellent, EXCELLENT work. I am VERY proud of you for posting this movie discussion so timely.
Although I haven't yet watched this documentary, I've read about the EV1 and its story was an absolute tragedy. The destruction of the EV1 was easily one of the biggest and most heinous atrocities in the history of modern first world society.
For those of you who don't know the story, here's a rundown of the EV1 in a nutshell: it was the first EV from a major automobile manufactoror and was the greenest and most advanced vehicle of its time, possessing a maximum range of 100 miles from what I've heard. It really was the sleek, sporty electric coupe of the future, and was supposed to single-handedly lead the automobile industry towards all-electric cars while simultaneously ending vehicle emissions once and for all...that is until the oil industry became aware of its existence, and the rest is (literally) history. Once America's far-right billionaire conservatives ordered the hit on the world's first big electric car, the EV1 didn't stand a chance. In fact, they were never actually sold to the public. General Motors conspired with the enemy from the start and only leased the EV1 as part of a mock "survey" to determine whether or not the people of America were interested in them. Regardless of how people actually felt about the EV1, General Motors plan from the beginning was to ultimately recall and demolish the vehicles either way, leading to the fall of the EV, an event which accelerated the planet's climate change calamity.
Then, after GM killed the EV1, the Bush Administration came along and outlawed the sale of electric vehicles entirely.
I will say more about the EV1 when I have more time.

I haven't seen this documentary. There are many documentaries in my backlog and I always like those, even the ones I disagree with, they also tend to be a fun watch.

Why are we discussing movies nobody has watched? I think there should be a rule against suggesting a movie if you haven't actually watched the damn film. If you want to discuss a topic, discuss it in an own thread. Fucking hell man.

I know, it makes no sense why would he suggested it. I actually thought he did, but then I read again, and apparently he didn't.

He just wants to discuss EVs, which is understandable, however, it doesn't make sense to have it as a movie discussion especially since he has nothing to add to the discussion of the actual film.

I watched it.
I don't know how to rate it as a movie exactly, but as a documentary I found it interesting and watched it to the end. It was well made, didn't feel dumbed down and patronizing like 100% of all modern documentaries, so I enjoyed it.

Alright, time for another update.
I had planned to post more on this thread because I have a ton of things to say about the EV1, but last sunday I was involved in a serious bicycle accident and broke half of my ribs as well as my right collar bone, which has left me temporarily impaired (I am typing with one hand right now). I was released from the hospital on Wednsday and the doc says I won't be fully healed for another month, which means I can't say much more about the EV1 at the moment, nor can I really post much about anything else for that matter.
All I'm gonna say for now is that, in response to Balder's criticism, I actually have seen most of the films I have recommended over the years. The only films I can think of which I recommended that I have never actually saw are The Love Guru, Leaving Neverland, and this doc. So basically, Balder (or "Ballhair" as I like to think of him) is just trying to get another rally going against me. So typical.
Everyone please just ignore Balder and flag his comments for spam so we can continue discussing this important documentary about what is arguably the single most important piece of technology of modern history.

Wow, this turned out to be so much worse of documentary than initially thought. Grade A bullshit, stay away at all cost.
"This is the worst kind of documentary there is. It is filled with nothing with bullshit. It thinks it is being so clever by laying out "facts", but in actual fact all this shitstain of a documentary does is put out biased opinions. The electric car was not killed by anyone. There is an abundance of electric cars on the road today and you know why? Because they are not pieces of shit like the ones they showcased here. These cars were not killed by Big Oil, the general public, the manufacturers or the advertisers. No, these were killed by the competitive environment. If someone makes a piece of shit product that nobody buys, do not make laughable conspiracies and blame those. Own up to it and improve upon the product. The people interviewed in this film are either paid or are ignorant and gullible as hell. The film is based solely on these laughable interviews from ordinary crazy people and the bitter designers of these failed cars. This documentary, along with other factors are what make ordinary working people hate this movement. What I also find despicable about it is that it is treating hydrogen cars the same way it claims electric cars have been treated. These people should celebrate that oil companies are backing a green solution to the fossile fuel challenges, instead they whine like little bitches. This is one of the worst documentaries I have ever watched." 0.5/5

Holy shit, I just realized that Centipede didn't even link the FULL movie! Centipede, you fucking pig! I withdraw all my former compliments.
Here's the full, uncut documentary in its entirety (1 hour, 33 min.), which he should have linked:
