I think this movie failed to predict the future. It's orders of magnitude dumber than they show.

This movie is fine, but not in my opinion it's not as good as everyone makes it out to be. It has some fun stuff going on and I could definitely see myself putting on again if I've got nothing better to do. I gave it a 2.5/5 back when I watched it three years ago.

It isn't as good as Office Space, but it has a lot to say about the future. The wrong f-word was used in the movie, but they had the right idea. Instead of watching TV on a couch toilet, people sit on the toilet and watch YouTube obsessively. Beating Hitler using the "un" seems to be the only history anyone knows these days as well. And the obsession with electrolytes is replaced with any "super food" diet of the week we see these days. (What happened to everyone eating kale?) The movie does drag on a bit in the middle, but I really think it is a great satire.
Nothing beats the first time I saw this picture. It still makes me laugh.

People keep saying this is a 'documentary'. No, it's satire. If it really had a statement, it doesn't put it across very well. And I don't think we're getting dumber, we're getting lazier and more apathetic in various tiny ways.

You know how we criticise people who sit on the couch watching TV all day? You know how we despise basement dwellers who watch porn and surf the net all day? You know how these things waste peoples' lives? Well, the 'basement' and 'TV' are now portable and fit in your pocket, so you can be a consumer zombie anywhere now. You also got to love the irony of a corporation buying up a piece of the government because the IVER=cough=, err, water as a threat to their profit margin. Like how Dick Cheney was Chief Executive Officer of the Halliburton Oil Company when he was also Vice President to George W Bush. (go figure). This movie showed showed terms having their meanings degradaded. Like "gender" in the USA (from whencforth flows on into toehr Americanised countries), which like "rehabilitation" in the movie. First it meant "male or female", now it's "personality" or "feeling". But why and how can anyone take the NB crowd seriously in the first place?
