Does anyone remembers she was the Sony Playstation mascot? The first mascot I remember from PlayStation was Lara Croft, so hearing this comes as a surprise to me. This may just have been an European thing, but I still like the idea of a fighting game character to be used as a mascot for your system.

Yeah that's cool. Just like Terry Bogard being the mascot of SNK/Neo Geo.

That didn't last much. Kiddie characters were strong at the time, not only Link, but Pit was quite popular too. Pit was even featured as a main character for the TV show Captain N The Game Master, so it didn't sound so crazy for Sega to have Alex Kidd as their mascot.

Wow although his face pops up a lot I didn't noticed that. I know back in the day SNK kept of switching around with Kyo and Terry and later K' was added to that circle as the mascot. Like Capcom was doing with Ryu and Akuma. But Terry will definitely always be the true mascot of SNK.

Yeah, it can be dual, for Capcom is definitely Mega Man, but many consider Ryu the one.
And yes, the same thing happened with SNK during the Kyo and K' years, but Terry seems to be back on top nowadays.
For Namco it will always be Pac-Man, no Tekken or SoulCalibur character can ever take that spot.
For Konami it was Simon Belmont, but many consider Snake to be the one now, and for a long time already, Bill Rizer didn't really have a chance, although I would prefer if they went with Frogger, which they won't.
Hu-Bee was the one for Hudson Soft, but since Konami bought them, I guess they can't have a mascot now, but I always wished for Bomberman to be the one.
For Sega, well, it will always be Sonic The Hedgehog now. It is absolute the most deserving, and no one can take that spot.
I know Atlus belongs to Sega, but they do their own thing, and it seems that just recently they decided to go with Joker from Persona 5 as their representative.
For Nintendo is Mario of course.
For Technos Japan it was Billy and Jimmy from Double Dragon, but since they are Arc System Works now they would likely choose a Guilty Gear character like Sol Badguy who believe it or not is Max Cavalera from Sepultura, who made a band called Soulfly after he left Sepultura.
But as far as I know they haven't decided yet, so if they choose one I really hope for Ky Kiske because he represents one of my favorite bands which is Helloween with two members from the first two Keeper Of The Seven Keys albums, Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske.
I doubt they would choose Axl Low which is obviously Axl Rose from Guns 'N Roses, but he is an option.
Although I would say I-No has a good chance, she represents Linda Perry from 4 Non Blondes.
So it's hard to say with Arc System Works, but if they choose they have to go with Guilty Gear, even though Dragon Ball FighterZ was so successful, but that's a licensed IP that belongs to Bandai Namco, and even after considering how popular BlazBlue became, Guilty Gear is still their strongest IP.
For Tecmo was Nyabraham Linnyahn, but for the longest time I always considered Hayabusa to be the one, which is why I say Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will never be a complete game without him because somehow Tecmo is still not represented in the game.
However they say Hayabusa won't be in the game, and they only have a character left for it. So I still have my hopes it will be a Tecmo character, but I doubt it, hopefully Kasumi or Ayane from DOA, or anyone from either Dynasty Warriors or Warriors Orochi.
The most likely scenario is that it will be an original character, or another existing Nintendo one, which will definitely leave the game undone without Tecmo represented.
By the way for NetherRealm is Scorpion which is a big deal because Liu Kang is the main character for Mortal Kombat, and Sub-Zero is the only one with his own game.
NetherRealm belongs to Warner Brothers who publishes the Batman Arkham games too, but before that it was part of Midway after they were with Akklaim, well, Acclaim.
Midway is a big important company too, specially considering how big they were in the arcades, so it is definitely worth mentioning.
This is one reason I like the Hi-Score Girl Anime series on Netflix because it has all these companies represented.
I almost forgot Square Enix, they technically own Tomb Raider now, but their biggest IP will always be Final Fantasy, even more than Dragon Quest, and Cloud is definitely the one for them.
