So in recent news, www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/youtube-gives-dislikes-the-thumbs-down-hides-public-counts/ar-AAQy6f1?ocid=uxbndlbingGoogle announced it will be removing the "dislike" feature on Youtube and Youtube users will no longer be allowed to dislike videos. Their reasoning for making this change is to discourage harassment and personal & public attacks, as well as to promote "respectful interactions between viewers and creators", in their own words. .... I'm so fucking enraged with Youtube by this point that I can't even see straight  First they screw-over the channel layouts, then they pave over the old comments system by merging Google+ into Youtube, then they remove the ability to dislike comments and bury heavily disliked comments, then they gimped the like/dislike bar by replacing red with gray and making it thinner, and now this, the worst possible outcome: taking away our ability to dislike entirely. Now, instead of two options, we can only vote for one: like. This is totalitarianism!! Disliking content on Youtube was one of my greatest pleasures in life. Is was one of my primary forms- as well as one of my favorite forms- of expressing myself. Few things gave me more pleasure than heading over to one of my most hated content creators like Dung-Brain Demuro, Consumer Reports, Saberspark, TheJwittz, Nostalgia Critic, James Rolfe, TJ Kirk, Steven Crowder, Demolition Ranch, Kentucky Ballistics, FPS Russia, and many others, as well as miscellaneous videos, misinformation, conservative propaganda, child abuse, animal abuse, etc. and going on a massive disliking spree, slamming the dislike button on any of their videos that spread misinformation or displayed their utter lack of understanding art. This was the last straw for me with Youtube. From this point forward Google is my enemy. I will be rallying against Google to either revert its changes or face a painful demise. I will dedicate the rest of my life to campaigning against Google until my demands are met. I SAY WE DISLIKE GOOGLE! Who's with me?? Seriously, can you guys believe this god-damn mother-fucking corporate scum-sucking fucking bullshit??? I can't be the only one here outraged by this outrageous fucking atrocity decision making. |

This is because ever since Youtube was bought out by Google, it's been pandering to corporate interests. Indie content, like (bad) reviews, are a threat to their profit margins. That's their real motivation!
Remember the shitshow that was the Ghostbusters 2016 trailer? Downvoted to the abyss, so much they even tried deleting negative comments! And there was also Queer Kids Stuff, hosted by a lesbian pedo. The channel had to disable comments, because of the "homophobia".
If you're looking for alternatives, there's lots. There's Rumble, Odysee, UnlistedVideos, Metacafe, Attvideo, Coub, all dotkom.

I have never disliked a video. Never saw the point; just don't watch it. Same here. I "like" interesting videos so Youtube *might* recommend me more similar stuff, but I don't see the point of disliking. What I do is to use the "Don't recommend channel" option if Youtube keeps pushing me really terrible stuff in the related videos. But if I open a random video and it's bad, I just close it. As even heavily disliked videos are still regularly recommended by Youtube, I get the impression that the dislike button was always just an ornament and never did anything. |

But what about your hatred of far-right fascist pigs like Jair Bolsonaro, Donald Trump, and all their followers? Doesn't it offend you went you wind up watching pro-Bolsonaro or pro-Trump propaganda videos on Youtube? I would think that clean, mature man like yourself would find himself disgusted with such content and would naturally hit the dislike button. I remember clicking on a pro-Bolsonaro propaganda video a few months before he got elected. I can't believe I didn't dislike it. To this day failing to dislike that video has been one of my biggest regrets. Being able to voice our dislike is the common man's weapon against conservative repression & military repression. |

Spirit Bomb - When I see any of those abject videos being recommended it's exactly when I look for the "Don't recommend channel" option. Because, see, Youtube doesn't care about dislikes, so if I click on a video, even if I dislike it, the channel will still get the view and corresponding money, and Youtube's algorithm will push it even harder. Now, if I don't even see the video and already ask for the channel to not even be recommended, I think that may have a bigger impact on future recommendations. I think I haven't seen any pro-nazi/bolsonarism (the two things are fully understood as synonyms nowadays) video being recommended to me in years, so it seems that works, at least for my recommended videos.

All those "The Great Reset" videos by the World Economic Forum official YouTube channel had hundreds of thousands of dislikes.
And now they show no dislikes.
Even when the Royal Family official YouTube channel posted about it they got tens of thousands of dislikes.
They already had the comments off, so having the dislikes off is another way of censoring people's disagreement with these agendas and narratives.

The latest YT turkey to have its comments and dislikes hid away is this movie trailer for Santa Inc., created by out-of-touch Hollyweird smug arse etc etc Seth Rogen. Extension here: link
