That's actually a Norwegian company that made that game. I was watching James & Mike Monday on Cinemassacre playing it when I noticed the box of cheese in the fridge said "Ost" (cheese). The game lets you know its Norwegian in the intro. The game had a sad story overall. It's not until the second final level do you discover who that shadow figure really is. It's yer mom.

Finished up Gravity Rush, Mega Man 8, and Fire Emblem Fates Revelation. Next up, going to try the 8-bit demakes of Mega Man 7 and 8, Tales of Zestiria, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Are you also going for the other Mega Man series after that, like X/Zero/ZX? I had a blast seven years ago playing through the entirety of the X and Zero series. I'm close to finish ZX right now, and will begin ZX Advent right after it (although I may want to replay ZX on hard mode and with the other character first). I played through Renegade Ops yesterday. It's an arcade twin-stick shooter with cars. It's not very good, as it's too repetitive and most levels are linear corridors, which doesn't go well with the driving controls (the game controls would benefit from more open spaces, like in the first level). It has a coop mode which I haven't tried, maybe it makes the game more fun. Since I've just finished Ninja Gaiden 2 on mentor, I've decided to go on with NG 3: Razor's Edge on Hard, which is quite easy compared to the previous games. Razor's Edge fixes some of the problems I had with 2 while introducing completely different issues: on the good side, the performance is great and there's no noticeable slowdown; most enemies are focused on melee combat and ranged enemies usually die in one hit so they aren't distracting; there's less of a focus on Ultimate Techniques, which were the bulk of the combat NG2; now there's a way to counter those cheap grab attacks that were unblockable in NG 1 & 2. So I prefer the style of combat seen here. On the other hand, the story is absolutely atrocious and, at the same time, there's too much of it; the levels are just terribly designed, being entirely comprised of these narrow corridors which just aren't good for the high-mobility kind of combat of the NG series; there are no items/shops, so the game lost an important item management aspect that was a key to survive in the previous games (although NG DS also didn't have it); the QTEs are annoying at best; some sections put an emphasis on using the bow, but, at the same time, the obligatory auto-aim is not good (just look at the helicopter boss in day 3: the helicopter was right in my front, but as soon as I tried to shoot, the aim automatically focused on one of the annoying enemies that weren't even in the general direction I was looking at). Also, every legacy boss in the Test of Valor rooms is broken, not a single one of them works as they did in previous games.

Certainly going to do Mega Man 9 and 10 though. I haven't felt the urge for any of the other series in a while. I played through ZX about 2 years ago, but stalled after starting ZX Advent (which was a very good game from what little I played). I picked up the Legends games a while back when they cam out on PSN, but haven't felt the urge to give them a go. I might do Maverick Hunter X on the PSP. We'll have to see

Been playing a lot of Red Dead Redemption lately. It's pretty good. Trying hard to 100% it.

My vacation month is sadly nearing its end, so I won't be playing as much in the next days. Anyway, I finished my replay of NG3: Razor's Edge on hard. I have only one thing to add to my previous comments: why this game looks so dark? I mean it in a literal sense: you can't see shit in some levels, like those with the dark corridors and fluorescent bugs. I also played through Grow Home, since it's a very short little game. It's a somewhat fun distraction: a 3d platformer stripped to its most basic elements (so, go around collecting random stuff). It's short enough to not get boring. I started Mega Man ZX Advent. Oh boy, the voices are atrocious and just never stop. And there's no way to turn them off. This is the most off-putting obligatory voice-acting I've seen in years. The story, as in ZX, is terrible and looks too much like one of those by-the-numbers anime made to sell stuff. But the 2d graphics are great and the gameplay, at least for the first few areas, is a step-up from ZX, which was already a good game. One problem I found is that, after running out of lives for the first time, the game didn't give me an option to retry the level I was in; instead, it sent me back to the save point, which was very, very far (I had already done a lot of stuff in the hub area before entering the level). To be fair, I still haven't tried the teleporters that you can activate through gameplay, so they may solve this problem. Edit: Balder - As I won't be playing as many games, I'll just pick one to go on through the next months; I've also chosen Red Dead Redemption, as many of you mates have recommended.

Cervantes it's a time sink. This year I wanted to play through a lot of my backlog, but if it's going to take this long to go through one game, I'm lucky to go through one game a month.
