I had a Fire Emblem craving, but Fire Emblem: Fates is still 2 weeks away, so...
I am playing a fan-translated version of Fire Emblem: The Sword of Seals (or the Sealed Sword, or the Binding Blade, etc). This is the first GBA Fire Emblem game (and where Roy comes from). The second GBA Fire Emblem (simply titled Fire Emblem in the west) is the first one we got, and is the prequel of this game.
Overall, pretty fun so far, though it looks pretty much identical to the other two GBA entries.

Lately I've been playing Assassin's Credd IV: Blackflag and I've been havin quite a good time with it, even though the Wii U version is full of glitches and the level design leaves a lot to be desired. spidershinobi I believe you were looking for pirate games a little while ago? If you still are I can't recommend this one enough; as boring and predictable the main storyline is (And on that note as boring the first 3 hours or so of the game are) upgrading your ship to fight, capture and sink ever bigger ships is a lot of fun, plus you can harpoon whales and get into barfights if you ever get bored of doing that. All I wish is being able to drink Rum rather than selling it all :/

Hopefully I get to drink some rum in real life too, I really miss it.

I think Uncharted Waters, Black Flag and Skies of Arcadia were in that list but I don't remember quite well.

Whoa, Nightfire is a totally under appreciated early Gen 6 gem. Now this is Red Faction done right - with a tinge of metal gear & more womanizing.

Still playing "Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse". I have a few days off starting tomorrow, and I'm hoping to finish the last few chapters.
Also still playing "Fire Emblem: The Sword of Seals". Progress slowed a bit on that one, but I'm still having fun.
Started up Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and I've been seeing why it was reviewed so well. I had stopped part way through Assassin's Creed III a few years ago, as it was just so very boring. More recently, I picked up Liberation, and Rogue, and had enjoyed them. However, with Black Flag, I'm actually interested in side quests again, and ticking out my ship, etc. I don't think I'd been interested in futzing around in an AC game since Ezio was the main character. I think with Edward Kenway, they hit upon a similar likable rogue. He's a jerk, but he's just so darned charismatic.

Adding recently purchased Truck Racer on PlayStation 2 to the playlist.
A budget game published by Nordic Games where you drive different types of trucks, like a semi, a pickup, a monster truck, a fire engine, a bus and even a van, so it's at least varied in the types of vehicles you get to drive, almost a little like MotorStorm or something. I like it, the framerate isn't super solid but it hasn't dipped too low, it seems to at least be able to stay above the 25fps mark, which is perfectly playable. I like the handling of the cars, you can do some nice powerslides and the turbo is very similar the one you have in MotorStorm where you use it as you please and it constantly fills back up, though in this game you don't explode after using it all up, it just refills again like normal. Visually it's not too bad, you have real time damage on the cars and they all have enough detail to at least look like what they're suppose to be even if some textures are low res and stuff like trees and other background object are copied and pasted a lot. I like the way you unlock new trucks and tracks, you actually get to manually pick what you want to unlock, then you get a challenge for it, for trucks you have to use the truck you want unlocked against a similar truck and win in a one on one race to unlock it, as for new tracks you need to beat a set time trial, you get infinite laps to do it but unless you've unlocked a suitable truck first it can be very hard to get around the track fast enough. I'm not a fan of stuff being locked away in racing games to begin with and even less so when there are no cheat codes to unlock everything with either, but I can be merciful in my judgement if the game at least makes up for it somehow, and I feel this game made unlocking stuff enough of my choice as a player that it's not a big deal. If I want a specific track or truck I can race for it without having to go through some arbitrary championship or something similar like so many other racing games force the player to do, here it's just go for it and get your reward for the work you put it, it's more direct, less diluted, and I welcome that. Games like Gran Turismo, Forza, MotorStorm, Ridge Racer and the like could learn a lot from games like this. Not bad for a little budget title, not bad at all.

I just 100% Metal Gear TPP. It was an awesome experience in general, because the gameplay is just so good... But man, are the missions repetitive. I stand by everything I commented on the MGS V thread. Also, the luck involved in capturing animals is just crazy. How the hell are people supposed to figure out where to look for specific animals without a guide? I think this part would be really good IF they only included those animals that you can actually see in the game - I had actually got every one of them just while exploring the game normally, so those were fun; but getting the random ones with cages was hell.
Now, I'll finish Catherine and probably begin Ys VI.

Farcry Blood Dragon. I'm bored with it already. What an odd coincidence, I completed Blood Dragon along with Metro Last Light last sunday. I do have to say, once you take the retro sci-fi and humor out of it, Blood Dragon does become pretty tedious. The whole point of Far Cry 3 was to spend half the game building your character to become a badass and getting your ass kicked in the process over and over again until you learn how to play properly, Blood Dragon does away with this part of the game and as such it becomes almost unbearably easy. I think I still preffer Far Cry 3 Vanilla after playing it. Metro Last Light on the other hand was pretty good, it built over the last game and did away with some of the most annoying elements of it, I loved it.
