What holidays do you despise the most?

The only thing about Valentine's Day that I can think of which I despise is extraordinary amount of merchandising that the chocolate industry, the dairy industry, and the palm oil industry all get. But even this pales in comparison to the absurd amount of merchandizing these industries get on Halloween. Halloween is basically the international holiday for the candy industry. At least Valentines Day encourages family values through bonding with a spouse or significant other, and isn't just about candy. It's mushy as hell, sure, and it might not be for me, but there's nothing offensive about that, which is why I'm keeping it off the list.

But what about you guys? What holidays do you despise the most? Come on, spit it out. Don't be shy. I won't fail to judge.

We don't have a Columbus Day in Brazil. The European shithead that arrived here was the portuguese guy, Cabral. That's the one we hate!

WRONG. The difference between the United States and Australia when it comes to their holidays that memorialize war is the levels of nationalism & patriotism that you can expect to experience. In countries like Australia, holidays like ANZAC Day really are just about honoring the dead. Here in the United States, however, american conservatives always use these holidays like Veterans Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc. as an excuse to push their pro-military agendas, their pro-war agendas, their 2nd amendment agendas, their pro-constitution agendas, their Tea Party agendas, their anti-asian agendas, their xenophobic agendas, their nationalistic agendas, their islamaphobic agendas, and so on. Basically, these "holidays" always digress into pro-american shitshows where the conservatives get carried away with themselves and just rave about the U.S.A. in the most ignorant, patronizing, nationalistic way you can imagine. It's insulting and disgusting.

You can even see this is our film industry with Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor and The Patriot being great examples:








These two holidays have always been a hot-spot for war dramas like these garbage films. Pearl Harbor and The Patriot in particular were released on memorial Day and Independence Day (respectively) to shamelessly cash-in on the conservative hype surrounding these holidays. It's disgusting. Mel Gibson and Robert Rodat are two of the most despicable people to have even existed on this beautiful planet.

On the other hand, Australia doesn't seem to have this problem with nationalism. Don't get me wrong, I am 100% against the current conservative political trend in Australia that's so popular right now, and I despise Tony Abbott, Malcom Turnbull and Scott Morrison with a red-hot burning passion, but if there is an issue with nationalism in Australia then I certainly haven't seen much evidence of it. The closest dilemma I can think of is all of this anti-China, anti-communist bullshit in Australia among the Australian conservatives, including (coincidentally) that piece of shit Mel Gibson:




Hey Mel, it's been 35 years; how come that "Chinese Takeover" of Australia hasn't happened yet? Oh yeah, it's because it was never on their agenda to begin with. Fucking nationalistic xenophobic alcoholic lunatic.

I gots nothing against this so-called ANZAC Day. You aussies have been behaving yourselves so I see no reason to put it on my list. I never make those kind of assumptions, unlike Balder and Mel Gibson.

I know right? Memorial Day and ANZAC Day literally celebrate the same damn thing.

Women's day mostly because they use it too further victimize women with psychological narratives to make them feel second class citizens undermining all the progress they have made for the actual old school feminist movement that doesn't have political agendas.
