After a stressful day with no sense of accomplishment, what do you wish the most? If you wish to have that sense of accomplishment, you may want to play a videogame, but what if that's just not what will happen? So, I've had a stressful week, that kind that's worse than if there was no week at all, you know? And after that I can proudly say that I spent the worst 6 hours I've ever spent playing Dragon's Dogma, turning a perfect run into a multi-"failed quest" run, and yeah, that was my whole accomplishment during the week! Oh no, wait, I also watched The Conjuring 2, there's that too.
But what about you guys? How big are your limitations, and how do you deal with them?

About Dragon's Dogma. If like it so much you should Platinum it. It will get recorded on the global ranks.
I get a lot of sense of accomplishment in games from unlocking things, like new customs in Tekken Tag Tournament II, achievements in Crimzon Clover World Ignition, or beating a new solar system in Chronicle Saviours.
But if video games are not an option a good way to spend your time is to read a new book, and I mean from start to finish.
Nowadays there are so many good book options that if you storm reading through the pages like a mad man it is totally OK. Once you do that, you'll know if it is good enough to read it again a few times, or just move on the next one, as you do with comic books and Manga.
The next thing you can do is work out, get an eliptica so you can exercise while you watch Anime. And definitely get dumbbells because lifting is also important.
Exercise will inject testosterone into your veins, it will make you more relaxed and it will give you the energy necessary to do the things you need to do through out the day like learning a new Karin and R. Mika link chain combo with your fight stick.
Another thing that affects your psique is eating shit food, instead of shit food eat a salad with spinach and kale and drink pure water.
Last thing and probably the most beneficial thing you can do is have a 20 minutes meditation session every day where you clear your mind completely and don't think of anything. Instead you only hear the sound of your breath. It will help you achieve your goals, it will make you more grounded as a person, and hot models will gravitate towards you wanting to take their cloths off so you can look at them.
Also don't forget to shower and brush your teeth, those are always good things to do. In other words be wise, and be a good wing to your friends.

spidershinobi - I know how you feel, mate. I'm having a terrible week also. My time for hobbies is completely random - I can spend an entire week without having any time to play anything, and then have another week playing for hours everyday. Besides work-related stuff and side-activities, sometimes I just have to fix something in my house, deal with family problems and other things. And my work itself is too disorganized, with much to do in a little time (sometimes working until dawn) or nothing to do for days. Taht's why, since I hit my 20s, I've been preferring shorter games over longer ones - I was a huge RPG fan in my teenage years, but those kinds of games are just not feasible anymore. I still do play RPGs, but they are the exception: I like the feeling of having accomplished something, so it gets to me when, with my erratic time, I spend two or more months to get through a single game. By the way, I really do admire stratogustav 's routine - that seems to be a really healthy life you got there, mate. The only thing I can be somewhat proud about my health is not eating junk food (although I broke this rule in the last week, as neither me nor my wife had any way to cook more healthy stuff for ourselves as we are fixing some stuff in our house so our kitchen is a mess), but I rarely exercise. Maybe if I exercised my back would not be killing me right now. I'm feeling like I'm 60.

I usually end up playing eight hours or less per week. I'm not as big a gamer as I used to be and I don't get that sense of achievement from them anymore. (but I rented out Borderlands 2 last night so I've been playing a bit more than usual).
Additional: With that regard, I tend to go with games that's not too elaborate, like Rogue Trooper or Ghostbusters on the PS2, becuase I'd rather save my brain power for something else.

Sometimes I play videogames every day, sometimes I only play them once a week or not at all. Even when I do play it's never 8 hours a day so I'm not really sure which one I should pick. Although, considering how much gaming I did in my teen years it wouldn't really be fair if I went with anything less than daily.

I think my schedule ends up being more similar to Cervantes' judging by how he described his availability of time, and yeah, like some of you guys shorter games just became the thing for me. That's certainly a good factor in me becoming attached to Way of the Samurai 4, since I can enjoy a story/role-play in a short amount of time. In case some of you wondered (ok, I saw at least one of you did) I put the "over 8 hours a day" option because some well defined groups of people can identify themselves under it: people who work with videogames and kids who have nothing else to do. And stratogustav, thanks for the recommendations! Unfortunately not everything you said is viable or applicable to me. The nicest suggestion you gave I think was reading, but then again I've had 6 hours to play videogames, spitting that with other things would make the sense of failure grow exponentially.

Don't you have a calendar in yer phone?...
Why not use the daily planner in there as a timetable. Just delegate 4-5 gheyme hrs every night after dinner (plus some in the morning if you can get up early enough - that's why sleep on the couch!) and there ya gow.

I'm happy to say that I'm not passionate about gaming, and have a life beyond it. With that said, I do really enjoy playing games in moderation (in other words, just a few hours a week), unless maybe it's one of my all time favorites like Melee or I'm practicing for a Melee tournament or something, but that's not always the case.

Spirit Bomb Hey! If it's not your favorite hobby, then yeah, it's healthy to do it now and never. If it is your favorite one and you do it now and never, you're just not healthy.

Lol, What do you do after dinner? Unless you work the night shift, don't tell me you still study or do homework... Or are you a night playa?! <-If so, much respect, much respect.

Wow! I'm impressed you have 4 to 5 hours after dinner. I'm impressed you have 4 to 5 free hours, even.
