So Nioh turned out to be something i don't like, so i traded it for FFXV, and ffxv sucks -_- It barely feels like a FF title, it definitely feels like a western rpg with the FF title slapped on to it. The gameplay is some of the worst i've ever seen in a game, absolutely horrible. To summarize FFXV, its MGS5 of the FF series in all the wrong ways, including the tedium. I guess it's a matter if taste. I'm not saying I have beating all those games, not even close, but I have had a taste of gameplay on all of them, and they all felt top tier quality. Another factor that I'm sure also adds up, is that I look every game as its own thing, without wanting it to necessary be like something else in the series or like something else entirely. I think a big issue may be that you want Nioh to be Ninja Gaiden, you want The Phantom Pain to be Guns Of The Patriots, and maybe you want Final Fantasy XV to be Final Fantasy XII. Just thinking that Street Fighter V was like Guilty Gear would be something I would not like, maybe because I like both, and I don't want one or the other to disappear. Street Fighter V's three hour CGI movie was cool to me, and like I said befote, it was highly entertaining, but if the game would not have that I would still see the value in the gameplay and in all those awesome competition features. Street Fighter II did not have all those things and it is still super fun among friends. Try playing games with friends on the same room. A lot of games open up, even single player games. We tried going all the way the first hill after the tower and the tutorial in Nioh, and it took us like one hour to reach the first boss. We obviously lost in the first try, but it was super satisfactory just reaching it. Otherwise you may be doomed to play only the games you already know how to play over and over again. Which is not bad, specially if you still don't have those platinums, but you are also limiting yourself from living other great experiences that current technology also allows us to have. I have tried the Alpha for Nioh, and enjoyed it, but trying the game now, the game itself takes too much from ninja gaiden. The 2nd boss in Nioh is obviously something they scrapped from NG. Its a cool game, just not something i enjoy. As for FFXV, i was one of the biggest defenders of them moving away from the traditional FF design, but that doesn't mean i wouldn't call out their mishaps. I enjoyed lots of FF games throughout the years, my fav being FFX, but XV is just bad in the gameplay department, and the story is also bad from what i've heard, but i cannot attest to that. As for MGS, calling it out for what it was is somehow my fault for wanting it to be like MGS4? Pretty sure that the game is objectively flawed, as well as FFXV. I don't recall me wanting games to be the same thing over and over again. Street Fighter 2 isn't a fair comparison, the genre back then was still new, so its fair that it never had anything besides fighting, but disregarding 20 years of advancements and competition and comparing the newest title to the one that came out 20 years ago isn't really fair or objective. The fact is that ASW has a fraction of Capcom's money, yet they were able to deliver, 3 times in a row.

I was just saying not everything has to be the same. I really do like the way Street Fighter V is. I really really do. I'm not lying just to make an argument. I really like how it looks, how it plays, the Capcom soundtrack, it feels very polished to me, and maybe that's why it came as shock to hear someone that is somewhat into fighting games trading it. However I do believe you when you say you don't like it. For me I guess I just like how you can get used to people's fighting styles and respond accordingly base on how you expect them to play on the next fights. For example here in this video I uploaded you can see how this guy destroyed me on the first round, but once I knew how he played I was able to respond accordingly by simply using a couple moves. Last time I was also able to tell my friend that came over he was about to defeat me once he uses his ultra, and because I knew he was going to be trying to use it, I was able to catch up and win. He told me I made him feel like he was in pre-school for a moment. Those are the kind of dynimacs that the simplicity of the gameplay mechanics allows, and that makes it special to me. I understand if someone thinks differently. It is just alien in nature for me to grasp it at first sight, that's all. By the way, it's cool to know it's not that you just wanted more of the same and that it was preventing you from enjoying new titles. I really thought that could had been the issue. I guess it's a matter of expecting different things.

Overall i think its a matter of emerging tastes, i currently realize that SF and KOF are not my kinda games, for 2D fighters i now stick to Air-Dashers. 3D fighters are cool with me still. BnB combos in FGs usually help alot, especially during tough matchups when you're focused on defense. Through time, you'll recognize some characters' moves and strategies, and will be able to read their movement.

Once you get to that point, you'll enjoy more KOF and Street Fighter. I feel maybe you are not there yet, and like I showed you in the video, it doesn't take very long. That's just the basics. The hard stuff is after that, but the good thing is that it is fun all the way through. It is fun to experience both kinds of games. Many Street Fighter players like Daigo and the like play Guilty Gear as well. There is no need to discriminate. It is not necessary though. If you still like 3D fighters, that should keep you well occupied. Nowadays I'm even starting to appreciate arena fighters like Saint Seiya and DBZ too. The only fighters I'm still not into, are the modern wrestling ones.

KOF13 had a great link system. Other than that, what drew me to these games was the aesthetic design and general atmosphere, especially KOF.

Unless of course you go offensive, which is how I end up liking that game despite the many defense options it has. Although I honestly feel the cumbersome feeling is because of not putting the hours. They get a lot lighter after you do a few all-nighters with your buddies.

I was actually working on Revelator's platinum before i was busy again with school. Once i get Revelator 2 i'm gonna continue. Speaking of trophies, i was up all morning playing NGS2, doing Team Missions. You would not believe how tough those are.

If those Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 missions count towards the Platinum, then they are definitely worth it. About Revelations, I would say if you are up for the task of getting all the now available Resident Evil plats, I would leave that one for lasts. I honestly didn't find anything wrong of Resident Evil 6 and would definitely put it before Revelations. A friend of mine just started getting all the trophies for the series. He started with 7, 0, 1, then 4, 5, 6, and now he is doing Revelations 2. Considering he has a full time job, a girlfriend that likes to go out, and that Resident Evil 7 just came out in January, yet it was his first, he is doing pretty good. Don't ask me how he does it because I don't know. I still think after Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, any Guilty Gear plat is definitely one to strive for. I've seen a lot of people with Teken 7 plats already. It is probably one you can do on a single rent. I'm definitely buying it as I Lili was really missing for my PS4. I also want to see that VR mode.

You have to complete all team missions to get the plat, its a pain. Currently, RE5 is my go to game for shooty shoots, its fun. I've been meaning to get RE5's plat on ps3 since 2010, just missing 2 trophies. As for the VR mode in Tekken 7, don't bother, its just the training mode, not even in first person.

Tekken fighting, although 3D, has always been solid. Fuck the extra content. I would imagine I would find a lot of fighting there. KOF XII alike of content is all I really need in a fighting game, everything else is a plus. I really appreciate the VR feature though. I haven't get it yet, but I'll get it this week. Now if the fighting sucks, which I doubt with a game that have had so much time to get polished, then I would really be dissapointed. It would also bum me out if there was no swimsuit options for the girls, but I heard there are, so it should be good.

This isn't as much 'extra content' as it is a standard thing we've come to expect from the series. The game doesn't even have a tutorial mode, the story mode is 1 hour, no cgi endings and no combo challenge. Even SF5 had some of these at launch. What did you play in Fighting games before the advent of online gaming? xD
