DOOOOOOOOOM 2016 $50
This game is made for a screen bigger than a Switch's. I'm playing on the medium difficulty and even the low level enemies pose a threat. The regualr zombis will charge without warning and the imps' fireballs fly pretty fast, and they'll launch a follow up attck after it. Well done, id sofware.
Demos: -Samba Di Amigo
-Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo Olympic Games
These two demos make me want to play Sonic All Stars Racing Transformeed again. Pity there's no remaster...

-Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo Olympic Games
My son LOVES Mario and Sonic at the Tokyo Olympic Games. He's had it for years, and he still goes back to it every now and then.

Preordered the physical copy of Echoes of Wisdom for my son's birthday from GameStop. I'm not a fan of GameStop, but the preorder has a pretty cool fabric poster.

lukefonfabre388 - Every time I passed on some expensive retro game that I really wanted, I ended up paying even more for it a couple of years later. If it's something that will make you happy and you have the cash for it, there's nothing to regret.

That was just in my feed. It's as if YouTube knows what I want to see. I have a feeling that the guy who did this segment just wanted to talk about his favorite games at the end and get paid for it!

That was just in my feed. It's as if YouTube knows what I want to see. I have a feeling that the guy who did this segment just wanted to talk about his favorite games at the end and get paid for it! I'm not surprised. Even 10 years ago around the time when we first started I remember many members of the forum were already getting similar YouTube recommendations. It seems the algorithm was already able to relate us together and give us certain similar suggestions. In terms of retro gaming, I feel one thing people usually miss to report is that nostalgia only plays a small role covering a few of the games people seek after. Most retro games people play usually were never played by them before. They get discovered because they survive the test of time. Limitations on hardware are always good for game development because it challenges creativity, spontaneity, innovation, originality, and eccentricity. Which are some of the qualities many modern games lack that make retro gaming, not just cool, but also and most importantly, fun. That said, one thing I discovered over the years is that most people even some of the hardcore players mostly have 10 games they play the most on each generation. Every game after that could easily have been just a demo, and it would have been fine. So my recommendation to people that want to start doing retro gaming, regardless of whether they are doing original hardware or emulation, is that they only seek those 10 titles for each system they like the most. It's part of that 80 / 20 rule. It would be far more enjoyable than get overwhelmed with docens of titles they won't have time to touch. Of course, this doesn't apply to everyone. The most dedicated people tend to enjoy multiple games fully, but for the big majority of players that is not the case, and they can enjoy retro gaming far more if they focus on the most wanted titles they have first and build from there. If for example, you already collected 10 games for the Sega Genesis and you beat them all, I mean even if not 100%, maybe you just got to the credits, and now you want to try another game, then of course go ahead. But if that isn't the case I would just stay with those favorite games and no worry about anything else. You may still get a deal that you won't regret later, as these things only go up in price, but ultimately I still feel there is greater satisfaction in playing your favorite games than playing nothing simply because you have too many choices that can overwhelm you at the time to choose what to play. Another thing I feel that is far more important than whether is original or emulation, are the peripherals. Some games are meant to be played a certain way, and it makes a big difference. For example if Ninja Warriors, Final Fight 2, and Final Fight 3, were made exclusively for the Super Nintendo, then playing with the SNES pad will give you a higher satisfaction than using an Xbox controller to play them. If you have the arcade versions of a game, a fight stick will bring it home, and if the game needs a light gun, that would be far better than a mouse. That's just how it is. The same goes with racing Sims and flying Sims, a wheel and a flight stick will always out do a simple gamepad or a keyboard.

I guarantee you, everyone in the pub will never be lacking of games to play. They can be played over and over again, some in different ways.
But the temptation to buy more will always be there. I actually still want to try a 3DS with the Sonic games. This is why I miss game rentals. If you get bored or annoyed with it, then at least you wouldn't have paid full price.

To be fair, some sales are cheaper than what renting ever was, and technically it is renting too considering you never really own digital stuff anyway, at least not fully like a physical copy.
