Could we also bring back Eternal Champions? How about Pirates of Darkwater? The Phantom 2040? Batman Beyond? Wait, nah, too niche! Good choices.

By the way, I hear people online asking why all of the sudden Capcom decides to this amazing thing, but the reason this was revived is actually very simple. In fact, you don't need to be a genius to know.
The reason the games are getting brought back is simply because of the same reason X-Men 97' was revived, and it is the same reason why they are bringing back the OG actor for Wolverine Hugh Jackman on the new Deadpool movie.
Basically now that Disney owns X-Men they know there is an entire generation that loves the X-Men, aka millennials, now with more buying power, and they are betting on it to make cash.
I actually don't oppose to the idea at all. After so much juicing of The Avengers, it is nice to see this for change, and it brings a smile to my face to see all this fan service getting done for X-Men lovers.

For those that haven't seen X-Men 97' yet on Disney+, they actually have done a pretty good job. I have liked every single episode so far. I hope they do a lot more.

When the show was widning down, the quality dropped significantly. Does the continuity pick up after that last season?

I actually want to re-watch the older seasons because I only remember until the Dark Phoenix episodes. After that it is all a blur. I'm also looking forward to the new Deadpool movie, which is basically the 70s meeting the 90s, which you would think has an 80s average to it.

About the possibility of a new Vs. game from Capcom, there are key things that describe how fans feel.
For example I love Capcom Vs. Capcom 2, Capcom Vs. SNK 2, and Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, I also love Capcom Vs. SNK 1, and Marvel Vs. Capcom 1. I am fine with those games existing the way they are already. I like sequels, but I don't need them. I'm fine staying just with the ones that already exist.
That said, some remakes like Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 HD back on the PS3 are always welcomed, specially since they pulled that one out because of the who Disney / Fox debacle. A full remake where you have Ultra HD sprites running at 120 FPS on 16:9 ratio without stretching anything, and is 100% loyal to the OG sprites, the menus, the music, and the stages.
If they were to make a sequel. I would love if they just build on the assets they already have, similar to what Mortal Kombat Trilogy did back in the N64, where you basically get everything that is there already, with more extra stuff.
However, I understand we are in the middle of the 20s, so having some stylized graphics like Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, and Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 did, something 8ing (ex Toaplan), is very important.
In that case, I would definitely love more X-Men characters from different factions like Alpha Flight, X-Force, X-Factor, Brotherhood of Mutants, New Mutants, Generation X, Acolytes, Morlocks, Marauders, Excalibur, etc..
The same thing with Tatsunoko, I definitely want more Science Ninja Team Gatchaman characters if they make a sequel.
Then for SNK they also could add many more KOF, Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, World Heroes, The Last Blade, and Samurai Shodown that haven't been featured before.
Just don't come to do regular graphics like Infinite did, which added nothing cool to the visuals, which are always key for a franchise that started at the arcades. The flashier the better.
In terms of a new franchise, I would say the no brainer one would definitely be Jump Vs. Capcom, which shouldn't be a problem since Bandai Namco already has those licenses and they are a gaming company too. That's why Street Fighter X Tekken already exists.
The new collection opens the possibility for a new Vs. game 100%, but only if it sells. We saw that the Darkstalkers collection aka Capcom Fighting Collection did not do as expected, so nothing for that yet, although fingers are always crossed.
Like Harada from Tekken said, Japanese devs are notorious to make sequels for anything that sells. They don't care if it got good reviews or bad reviews, if it sells we get more of it, plain and simple.

With the whole hype for Marvel Vs. Capcom Collection I am now motivated to start a Marvel Legends X-Men collection. Particularly the badges that started coming up during the pandemic that have been the best ones so far, and are from the "Jim" Lee's era. I decided to divide them into groups of 8. That way they can be sectional and have enough space for poses without having a bunch of them clutter together. X-Men Blue Team:1. Wolverine 2. Cyclops 3. Gambit 4. Rogue 5. Storm 6. Colossus 7. Phoenix 8. Professor X Brotherhood Of Evil:1. Magneto 2. Mystique 3. Juggernaut 4. Sabertooth 5. Omega Red 6. Pyro 7. Avalanche 8. Scarlet Witch X-Factor:1. Strong Man 2. Multiple Man 1 3. Multiple Man 2 4. Multiple Man 3 5. Havok 6. Polaris 7. Forge 8. Quicksilver Alpha Flight:1. Snowbird 2. Guardian 3. Vindicator 4. Shaman 5. Aurora 6. Northstar 7. Sasquatch 8. Puck X-Force:1. Warpath 2. Riptor 3. Domino 4. Boom-Boom 5. Sunspot 6. Shatterstar 7. Feral 8. Siryn New Mutants:1. Mirage 2. Magik 3. Cannoball 4. Cypher 5. Magma 6. Karma 7. Wolfsbane 8. Warlock Hellfire Club:1. Mastermind 2. Madelyn Pryor 3. Selena Gallio 4. Jean Grey 5. Sebastian Shaw 6. Jason Wyngarde 7. Donald Pierce 8. Emma Frost X-Men Gold Team:1. Bishop 2. Forge 3. Cable 4. Morph 5. Jubilee 6. Dazzler 7. Iceman 8. Beast Exiles:1. Morph 2. Blink 3. Banshee 4. Longshot 5. Sunfire 6. Caliban 7. Gladiator 8. Lilandra Uncanny X-Force:1. Deadpool 2. X-23 3. Kitty Pryde 4. Celeste Cuckoo 5. Irma Cuckoo 6. Phoebe Cuckoo 7. Nico Minoru 8. Nightcrawler Marauders:1. Mister Sinister 2. Master Mold 3. Sentinel 1 4. Sentinel 2 5. Nimrod 6. Apocalypse 7. Psylocke 8. Onslaught Acolytes:1. Blob 2. Toad 3. Mojo 4. Skullbuster 5. Lady Deathstrike 6. Callisto 7. Stryfe 8. Silver Samurai Savage Lands:1. Sauron 2. Wendigo 3. Marrow 4. Spiral 5. Shadow King 6. Dark Phoenix 7. Dormammu (from Doctor Strange) 8. Galactus (from Fantastic Four) Marvel Super Heroes:1. Spider-Man 2. Captain America 3. Hulk 4. Iron Man 5. War Machine 6. Thor 7. U.S. Agent 8. The Thing Marvel Super Villains:1. Doctor Doom 2. Venom 3. Shuma-Gorath 4. Blackheart 5. Thanos 6. Taskmaster 7. Mephisto 8. Carnage Obviously, this means leaving many characters out, but otherwise it can get way too large, specially considering just those mentioned are already 120 action figures from the ones that have been released. Hellfire Club pack: Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Cable: HasLab Sentinel :
