Speaking of input lag and high scores, my highest score on Metal Slug 3 is just over 5 million points, which is AMAZING considering the game's high difficulty AND the fact that I was playing on an LCD TV (via Wii) with huge input delay. Sometimes I scare myself with just how fucking awesome I am at video games. Ho... You got proof of that? I could take a picture of my high score, but I don't know how to share it on this site. I'm a total noob when it comes to using the internet (despite the sheer amount of time I spend using it daily lol).

It's the pride of the Fancy Arcade Stick vs. the Regular Controller on the line! That's what I do. Except I go with 3, I will try 2 this time, thanks for the tip. My stick is pleased of you calling it fancy, it must win in the name of Sanwa Denshi parts and Seimitsu lights.

Looks like the normal controller still beats the fancy arcade stick!

Managed to push it up a bit more by getting to Stage 3 this time. That's crazy. But see I can probably beat your record simply by going further. But that would not give much sense of accomplishment as doing it within the levels you got it from.

Heh, clever talk! There's a limit to the score you can get per stage you know... But very well then, beat my score at stage 1-2 and I'll accept the superiority of your PlayTech RoyalFlush Custom Sanwa Denshi Seimitsu Stick! Looks pretty kewl btw... In the looks department my old controller can't beat the awesomeness of yours, I grant that much... ...But mine is still a more elegant weapon for a more civilised age!

In the looks department my old controller can't beat the awesomeness of yours, I grant that much... ...But mine is still a more elegant weapon for a more civilised age! All those kind words about it and its identity recognition feel very warm and fuzzy because of all the things it allows me to do with some of the most clever entertainment creations ever made in the history of modern civilization where I interact with cyberpunk programmed artificial intelligences that challenge my memorization, responsiveness, reflexes, strategy planning, and skill performance to achieve goals that only exist in the binary created world of video games, which is something that only motivates me higher to keep on trying facing the seemingly unreachable goal of beating your spontaneously obtained scores. However I have to recognize that your blue marvelous controller beats the black one I use when facing the longest most stealth heavily charged journey I have ever encounter in all my years dealing with the creations of Konami branded minds. Update (August 22):I finally got Ikagura in the mail today. I'm super excited. I just realized I need to buy a GameCube memory card for my Wii though. I also need to get a TV mount that would allow my TV to rotate to a vertical position for these kind of games. Here is my first try score (I didn't use any continues): How does it work though? Is the white good for blacks and the black for whites or is the black good for blacks and the white for whites?

Alright!! Now we're talking! Something to compete against! That's an amazing score for an early try. You beat the first score I put up easily... Looks like there's something to that fancy stick afterall! I personally had trouble getting past stage 2 early on, and 3 is outright impossible (for me). I'll put up one from a more recent attempt soon.
Yeah, opposing color does double damage. And destroying same colored enemies consecutively ramps up the multipler (regardless of what color you are.) Although seeing as you're pretty good, you already seem to have the mechanics down. Didn't I tell you it's a really simple game... all you do is shoot, change color, and fire missiles... But just like the Karnage cliché goes.... "Easy to learn, difficult to master..."
I just realized I need to buy a GameCube memory card for my Wii though. I also need to get a TV mount that would allow my TV to rotate to a vertical position for these kind of games. That was another thing I was meaning to remind you of, but since you had the controller sorted I figured you had that sorted too...
They go for as cheap as $9 for a 512Mb one (1000+Slots) btw... But no matter... as long as we're just talking score, then we all we need are screenshots! P.S. The music is amazing isn't it?

The music is amazing indeed. In that regard and pretty much in everything else, you can easily recognize they are the same people of Gradius V. They are outstanding game designers. I can't think of any other dev that could rival them. I will still get the memory card and a couple of GameCube controllers because now that I know how well GameCube games actually play on my Wii, there are many more I want to get for the system, particularly the prevalent Nintendo published ones. By the way, I couldn't figure out how to shoot in circles in Gradius V. Maybe that's one of the many reasons why I cannot get to your score. You said you can do that, but I couldn't find a way. However even without that I should still be able to beat your score. I'm just not that good I guess. I'm still happy I was able to beat one of your scores on the first try. With Gradius V it felt like I really had no hope, which is probably true considering how much improvement I need in general.

I can't think of any other dev that could rival them. Oh, I won't go that far... Technosoft were pretty good in their day... But then again... Technosoft's defunct while Treasure's still around... By the way, I couldn't figure out how to shoot in circles in Gradius V. Maybe that's one of the many reasons why I cannot get to your score. You said you can do that, but I couldn't find a way. However even without that I should still be able to beat your score. I'm just not that good I guess. What?... All you need to do is move your stick in a circular fashion while pressing down option/multiple button... What I meant was that you could target enemies from any angle with Type-2 while keeping stationary yourself and simply rotating the laser angle 360°. That way you can shoot down as many of them as possible. You cannot get the multiples circulating the ship like in Type-3, they can't do that with Type-2. That's why Type-3 offers the best protection supposedly, but at the expense of firepower restricted only to the front... So while you might be able to get further with Type-3, your scoring ability will be lesser than with Type-2. I will still get the memory card and a couple of GameCube controllers because now that I know how well GameCube games actually play on my Wii, there are many more I want to get for the system, particularly the prevalent Nintendo published ones. Don't forget Twin Snakes! That way you can forget about MGS1 from PSN! Skies of Arcadia too... supposedly teh best RPG on Dreamcast, then on the Gamecube... I'm still happy I was able to beat one of your scores on the first try. With Gradius V it felt like I really had no hope, which is probably true considering how much improvement I need in general. Heh! That's just the entry level score! Next one won't be so easy!

Did you made your room based on this forum? So much wood hahaha, is that a Super Nintendo controller? I didn't notice that until now. I can see the picture matching our forum. Now you make me like it more. And kind of yes, that's a Super Famicom controller, but it only works for the Wii and the Wii U. It was given by Nintendo themselves through their online club, I just end up buying it.
