It says on the front page yesterday we had 76 different visitors, and as i'm writing this it says there are 36 guests online at the same time i'm here. I see this with many forums where people lurk around and never post anything. They do comment on the YouTube videos so it should be ok for them to post here too.
C'mon guys, we don't bite. Don't be shy. I would not mind to see this group grow. I know many of the guys who post here are cool and funny just by reading what they write. I also want to read what you guests want to say about Classic Game Room.

I've always wondered about this too, I always check the amount of guests and the lowest amount I've seen has been 72 I think.
Maybe it's just a glitch? I mean I sometimes check the forums without being logged in.

Now that you mention it I actually once made a forum post about celebs with pics and all and a bunch of random people started commenting, the views were also stacking up. Then I removed it and the influx of guests saying something stopped. What it is, is that some are just regular Internet traffic that review posts, etc., pull in. So the majority are probably not even knowledgeable of what CGR actually is, but some may, I always hear stories of people saying they do surf without saying nothing for many months maybe even years, so it could be either one.

And I'm occupied with my own secret society. We reunite in dark rooms and everything (actually, someone forgot to pay the bills). About the topic at hand, that must be quite usual - I do lurk on one other forum without ever posting (I like to read the HG101 forums, for example). Sometimes forums can be a good source of news/reviews/whatever, so I may want to read them but not really post anything. |

I'm wondering if the numbers may be inflated, because if you check with a different device without being logged in, it still counts as a "guest."

So if 30 people are logged in their computer signed in while at the same they are all logged with their cellphone too signed out. It will count 60 people. The 30 signed in and the 30 signed out because they are looking at the site at same time through different devices. |
