You must be mistaking it for Brawl. Melee's gameplay is most certainly NOT floaty. I also played the Bros WiiU and iirc it was floaty too. Your definition of "floaty" is clearly different than mine. And what the hell does "iirc" stand for?

iirc stand for "if I recall correctly" OH ok. Thanks dude. Balder Melee tends to be an extremely polarizing game among fans of the series and gamers in general.

I see the entire series as fun party games, but the randomness involved keep them from being really "serious" in my eyes - which is ok, though, as not every fighting game needs to be as technical as Virtua Fighter or something. For being the kind of party games that you might have some fun once in awhile, I rate all of them as "Average" games: not the kind of thing I'm really interested at, but not something that I would dislike. They're pretty fun, overall.
Keep in mind I don't know enough about the series to understand specific differences between installments, so my rating is for the series itself - I don't know how Melee in particular ranks among it.

I actually have a better knowledge of the series (Or at least I own and have played all of them) and I agree with this notion, the game's mechanics are just too simple and the fact that there is an active competitive scene for 3 out of 4 games in the series baffles me. They're fun games but I honestly find it hard to take them seriously, either as e-sports or as "tryhard games".

Oh, and I forgot to acknowledge the fact that 2016 marks Melee's 15th anniversary, in case you guys didn't notice.
Happy 15th birthday, Melee!
