I hate this game. It created a genre of games that I could not stand: fake instrumental gaming. Kids were wasting hours of their time, when they could have been learning a real instrument. Even when the real instruments came out, like stratogustav said, many kids refused to learn the real thing. I was happy to see the fad die when South Park parodied it in 2007. If it inspired kids to play the real thing, then it did some good; however, I didn't see much of that.  I never played any of them and don't really see the appeal. Even as party games, I can imagine a lot of games that would be much more fun with friends. |

Cervantes dschult3I don't get that logic at all. I play lots of games instead of developing real world skills and I'd imagine that you do, too. Should we all just give up gaming altogether? Waste hours, weeks, and years learning how to play a real instrument just to jam with our friends every now and then? That's what makes video games fun: you can feel like a pro at something when in reality, you're a complete loser. How dare you try to take that away from Balder!

But Balder ignores it because that's what he's told to do by his donors. Wall St fat cats and quick time eventers. I know those people. They're very smart people. But they're not the people you want in charge of our video game polls. We need a new system! I can make a good system, believe me. But with Balder , your secret ballots... You have something called a "secret." But it isn't really a secret anymore. People are voting and then getting called out. And I couldn't believe it. I said, "What, are we in Nazi Germany?" This can't happen, folks. It wouldn't happen when I'm moderator. Believe me. |

I never said the polls were secret. But c'mon guys, do we want people to give games poor ratings without anyone backing up that rating? Before anyone called it out it had only positive comments but twice the poor ratings. I think the thread should reflect the ratings given.
