Well, I'm definitely excited to play Super Bomberman R and Ultra Street Fighter II on the NS. It is so cool to have a Nintendo system launching with a Konami game, a Capcom game, and a Zelda. I'm also excited for Fast RMX and Puyo Puyo Tetris on the go.
Bomberman is definitely one of the most important franchises despite not being as popular as others from Konami. It started on the MSX and has made its way into multiple systems because how not to love such a simple but ingenious idea which is the awesome gameplay of Bomberman games.

I own the Japanese version of the Saturn one. All of the menus are in Japanese so it's pretty hard to navigate. However, Playing with Fire is a Bomberman rip off, and a pretty good one at that. It was my first Flash game and one of the best. So I will rate the series after that game: a 4/5 for it's importance and my nostalgia towards it. Here's a link if anyone wants to play Playing with Fire 3 (not the one I played originally, but whatever): www.123spill.no/spill/spill-spillet/2495/Playing-With-Fire-3

FINALLY Balder decides to do my suggestion (which I submitted back in November I think >_>), but my, what perfect timing, considering all of the recent Bomberman reviews that Mark has put out within the last few days. I officially hereby declare February 6th thru February 12th as Bomberman Week! It is now written into law. So live it up! I can't even begin to say how much this series means to me. Not only does it rank as one of (if not THE) best party game series in existence, but the games themselves have a trademark charm in their design, specifically their audio design, that has left a longlasting impression on me. I grew up playing all three of the N64 Bomberman games that were released in America (the fourth N64 title wasn't released outside of Japan). They were a HUGE part of my childhood, and shaped my taste in gaming and (especially) music. As I said before, the audio design in these games is truly first rate, and all have unmistakable soundtracks and audio effects. As for the N64 games themselves, I enjoyed all of them equally as a child, but I can't say I care much for Bomberman Hero as an adult, but at the same time I certainly don't hate it. It just deviates too far from the series' signature gameplay, and comes across as a fairly generic 3D platformer (albeit with AWESOME music), and feels more like a spinoff. Bomberman 64: The Second Attack is easily my favorite N64 Bomerman game, because it is all around the best (longest single player mode, Co-Op in single player mode, most multiplayer maps and game modes of the N64 games, best level design, etc.). Unfortunately the game didn't sell well, no doubt due to the timing of its release (2000, at the end of the N64's lifespan) as well has the mediocre review scores it undeservingly got from critics, and as a result is very difficult to get a hold of nowadays. I prayed for YEARS that it would get a virtual console release, but alas, it never got one. The first Bomberman 64 was also unfairly bashed by critics at the time of its release, which I am so baffled by. I mean, it's such a fun and energetic game (not to mention nostalgic!), what's not to like? Great multiplayer, fun music, a lengthy single player mode, it's awesome. And very affordable these days, unlike Bomberman TAS. I recommend it! My only complaint is the mediocre AI on the enemies. I haven't played any of the games outside of the 3 on N64, but the other one that often comes to my mind is Saturn Bomberman on the Sega Saturn, but mostly because I've spent so much time listening to the AMAZING soundtrack. The animated intro is also fun to watch. Marvelous series. It's had such a very positive influence on my life, and for that, I'm truly grateful. 5/5

I remember enjoying the SNES Bomberman a lot, but due to lack of a multi-tap, I didn't get to try any 4 player matches until the N64.
Played the SNES version a few years ago at a friend's house. It was still fun.

I don't think I've ever had multiplayer matches with people on Bomberman. I need friends. Woe is me.

I really like the Bomberman series. It's easy to play, so getting a bunch of people together for local multiplayer isn't a problem. I will be getting the new one for the Switch, but the Game Boy version will probably always be my favorite. 5/5.

Normally I wouldn't stand for this, but since Bomberman has been the subject of several of Mark's recent videos, you made a wise choice to post-pone my suggestion. The timing was apt, and you are forgiven.

I love Bomberman overall as a series, and I have Super Bomberman R preordered.
I've played Bomberman 93/94(TG16/PCE Wii VC), Bomberman Party(PS1), Bomberman 64, Saturn Bomberman, and Bomberman Ultra(PS3).

Never liked this series. I've played several games in the series over the years, from 8 to 32/64 bit consoles plus the newer Act Zero on Xbox 360, and so far I've only enjoyed Act Zero, so much in fact it's the only one I've bought myself.

Balder Dan E. Kool Oi! Don't you start that again! Armored Core Raven You liked Act Zero? That's very interesting, because it's supposed to be one of the biggest turkeys on the 360. MeleeMonk This was the first game I bought for the N64. It tried to be Mario 64 in a few ways, but it was kinda clumsy. Did have the puzzle element, though., like bouncing yourself on bombs in order to cross gaps. Did you ever reach Rainbow Palace? Like Sonic, its original format was probably meant to be the way it should be, at least according to the public. But in a time of innovation that 3D was bringing, staying in the past wasn't an option for game franchises.
