I have come around to it now and I kind of like the ds and its games. I used my store credit at a retro game store near me to pick up a special edition pokemon ds lite palkia and dialga edition and I have been playing it quite heavily now for the past couple days. I know the 3ds can play ds games I just never liked the way my ds games looked on there compared to how they looked on original hardware and I find my ds lite to be a lot more portable since its lighter and smaller.
I'm probably going to start collecting ds games as they are very easy to find and if I need a case and manual for them its easy to find one online most of the time. Plus there is lots of good games for it despite the massive amount of shovelware on the system.

It is not surprise. We change our minds on various things. There are things I used to love that I end up hating afterwards and vice versa.
It doesn't happen often but it does. For example blondes, brunettes, red heads, it's like a vicious circle.
I personally hated pop songs and nu metal, now I can even put it on if I feel like it. They are not my preferred genres, but I can enjoy them if I feel like it at the moment.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the DS library. I can understand why you would prefer to play them on the original hardware. The slight distortion from up-resing on the 3DS doesn't bother me, but I know it is the case for some. That and the DS Lite is just a fantastic little machine.

I have seen the same thing happen when you play gba games on a ds lite. I think it kind of upscales it and makes it look a bit better. However there are some ds games that do benefit from playing them on a 3ds since it has that circle pad on it. I think my battery in my new ds is glitchy. It would tell me I have full charge and then not long after tell me I need to charge it and then it goes back to full again. I'm going to take the battery out of my original ds lite and put it in my new one, I just have to go buy a special screwdriver for it at the hardware store. I've never seen a screw this small.

Yeah, I've definitely enjoyed the circle pad for some DS games, even if it is just a comfort thing and not analog controls. Hopefully swapping the battery out on your new DS will do the trick. Those things die eventually.

Cool, glad to hear it. Old one was probably just dying then.

The DS has an outstanding library. I bought a New 3DS last year, and yet, most of my games are DS ones.
