The reason I didn't have that much XP on the old forum was because the XP system was totally unbalanced. Why did people get 5 XP for writing reviews that was usually just as short (or shorter) than a comment. And the confirming system also gave you 5 XP per game you confirmed which was ridiculous. I tried confirming my collection but I only did 40 or something games because it was super slow and the Space Vault didn't contain all of my games. And speaking of making Vault Pages was the worst part. So if people only got XP for posting comments I would be much higher, since I was there from the day CGR moved to DailyMotion. |

The Space Vault was like THE THING and I was able to enter a few game descriptions prior to when they closed that ability to the general public. So, for me personally, it was cool having my gaming influence imposed on all those viewers that came to look up obscure titles like Super Ninja Boy or FireStriker. I remember one day taking all of my SNES games and GB games out and taking pictures of them to upload.
As I recall, the XP were supposed to lead toward some sort of rewards that never came to fruition. After a while, people were just uploading stock photos as confirmation that they owned something. Bad enough that they weren't using their ID Card, but worse that they were grabbing a random file on the net and then gobbling up so many XP. It's not even really the XP that irked me, but that there was no way to verify that they actually even had the game that I didn't like, because it tainted the pool for those that did. Oh well.
I wish I had been around for when the forum did ultimately go down, though. I hope a lot of people posted in those last few days.
