Nintendo is discontinuing the NES Classic. Kinda surprising - I thought demand was still high. But I guess internet hype can blow things out of proportion. Just because a bunch of Redditors are excited about something, doesn't mean everyone actually wants it. Throughout April, NOA territories will receive the last shipments of Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition systems for this year. We encourage anyone interested in obtaining this system to check with retail outlets regarding availability. We understand that it has been difficult for many consumers to find a system, and for that we apologize. We have paid close attention to consumer feedback, and we greatly appreciate the incredible level of consumer interest and support for this product. And you thought they were expensive on eBay before! Get one at retail while you still can... |

I feel like this is something Nintendo is going to hold on to and then release whenever they need a cash fix. I wonder if the sales of the NES Classic paid for that Super Bowl commercial. |
