Does anyone in here you Letterboxd? It's a movie logging site where you can keep track of what movies you've watched and have a diary of them. You can make lists, rate, review etc. Don't worry, it won't cannibalize this forum because Letterboxd is not a forum. My username is Balder there too.

We're allowed to use viglink to make money off people who click links without telling them about it? I thought that was against the rules.

My HOSTS file blocks all kinds of intrusive, malware and virus sites, including a whole long list of viglink URLs and variants, so you won't be getting any revenue from me, dan e FreeForums.
Balder, I would've hoped all such fake links would be instantly bannable offenses by default with no exceptions. Guess you can't do much about it.

Balder clickable links that are made to look like normal links but secretly direct to a redirecting intermediate site which registers your IP address so some user ( dan e FreeForums in this case) can make money off of your click on the false link before sending you to the real link you wanted to go to in the first place. For regular PC users this slows down the browsing and depending on what it direct to can also lead to malware, for mobile users it costs money as it adds to the traffic data and in mobile devices you can't see the URL of the link you're about to click on, making it extra hard to spot such false links on smartphones or surftablets etc., and for users like me who have such sites blocked usings HOSTS it simply results in a blank 127.0.0.1 page, making both the false link and the redirected original link inaccessible, which is why most sites don't allow false links like that, and those that allow them usually requiring a clear and obvious warning with no attempts to hide it with text formatting.

Did Dan do that with the link to my profile?

Did Dan do that with the link to my profile? That's the full url when you copy and paste it but that's not to say he did it intentionally. Could be a browser ad on or malware. Clean your computation device, @dane Kool. I recommend blue Dawn dish detergent with borax. Of course DanE is pretty sketchy...
