The WWE series is pretty fun and hilarious if you get the right setup. For me that is to bring it to a Fighter LAN party, set up a PS3 or Xbox 360 (or PS4/XOne these days), have everyone make a (hilarious) custom character without anyone else seeing it (meanwhile the rest of the party plays other fighting games like Battle Arena Toshinden, Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter etc.). Once everybody's done, have a free for all game and watch the hilarity ensue when you watch the over-the-top intros and bat-shit insane characters.

Nothing beats the THQ N64 wrestling games for parties. After those the genre really went down, and Rumble Roses was the only one keeping the flow, unless of course you follow those institutions religiously, in which case I can see people still liking them, just like I like F1 games, I can see if someone doesn't. I know these are fighters, but they always feel like something else for some reason.
People should try these ones:
- Virtual Pro Wresling 2 - Virtual Pro Wresling 64 - WCW/nWo Revenge - WCW Vs. nWo World Tour - WWF No Mercy - WWF WrestleMania 2000
That was THQ at their prime.

I also thought Undertow did a great review on this game.

I know how to throw a LAN party.
