What are some of your quirks, superstitions and idiosyncrasies? And what are some random gripes of yours about video games in general?
I have always avoided most launch games. Even 'launch window' games. They carry a stigma of being rushed and underwhelming. I know this is stupid, but I just can't shake it. I missed out on a lot of great games like Pilotwings and Shinobi 2.
As for gripes, it really grinds my gears when someone pronounces the buttons of a controller as 'the budden' or 'bud'ns'. We made gaming discussion great again, perhaps we can do the same for buttons.

E3 over-hypes all of their games. They always look worse and underwhelming wheb they finally come out. I'm not very excited for this year's E3. I think I'm finally have been broken down and joined the ranks of player1.

You know what really gets my goose geesing? How japanese use the Circle/A button to select things on menus but their western ports use X/B to select things. It's worse than the metric/imperial system difference. I also hate how a lot of people seem to bandwagon certain games/opinions but that's also true for alot of things outside of video games I guess.

I dislike people using the term 1 Up. I prefer the term "life".
I also dislike the existence of the R3 and the L3 buttons. I particularly hate using the L3 button for sprinting for example.
I hate stickers on game boxes. I also dislike greatest hits cases editions because the box colors don't match, and in the worse scenarios when they even modify the artwork cover with a thick frame around it.
I also miss how games used to have gameplay after the initial cutscene. Some games don't even have intro cutscenes anymore, and that's fine, but at least put the gameplay videos after a minute or so of leaving the title screen untouched.

It's worse than the metric/imperial system difference. I also hate how a lot of people seem to bandwagon certain games/opinions but that's also true for alot of things outside of video games I guess. There's actually 2 reasons for this. Japanese read right to left, hence the B A Famicom buddens (which were originally square) and when Sony designed the Playstation controller the O symbolized 'accept' and the X symbolized 'cancel'. I guess it made sense to Japanese developers that the button marked A would be accept and this carried through with Sony's design, whereas in the West designers felt the thumb naturally rested closer to the start budden, which when viewed left to right is the first action button. Someone should spend millions testing which select method is the most proficient. They'd probably come up with some BS like 'psychologically the Western thumb wants to be as far away from the edge as possible due to its deep rooted desire to be close by Start and Select, which subconsciously represent the Western parents, one offering a chance for pause and the other nurturing the Westerner with selections (but not always)'. If you ask me I say it's because George Bush threw up sushi on the Japanese Prime Minister right in the middle of negotiating a universal control scheme. Another thing that fluffs my briefs: unnecessarily loud and shrill low life alarms. I'm going to hear this a lot, in fact I expect to be close to dying anyway. And despite the loud alarm nobody will come to my aid.

Every time your character is staggered/grabbed and you have to repeatedly press a button/waggle the stick. Man, it sucks. Whoever invented this gameplay "feature" should rot in the R-Zone.

THIS!!!!!
Sprinting is one of the absolute WORST features in games, ESPECIALLY shooters because of how redundant it becomes since you're basically required to sprint every time you move if you want to survive against human players in multiplayer, or even in single player on higher difficulty levels. There's absolutely no depth to the mechanic whatsoever, and in fact it doesn't really even qualify as a "mechanic". Also, I fucking hate Calladoody for popularizing sprinting in video games. It basically ruined console shooters for me, which is why I have no interest in the 343 Halo games and most post-6th gen shooters in general, or even games from other genres like Skyrim, although I honestly don't mind sprinting if it's in a 2D game like SMB or Streets of Rage 3.
Why are these sentences so spaced apart from each other???!? AGGHHHHH I don't know how to fix it!!!

One thing that I've never got over is that most people never really gave the Dreamcast a chance when it came out.

You need to go to the BBcode and then return to the preview to fix it (Esp if you cut & pasted from somewhere else). C&P into the BBcode entry instead of the regular reply box to avoid the problem altogether.

What leaon79s said. I discovered that a while ago as well, but it wasn't on this forum. I think it was Word or something. Somehow the same thing was happening to me, and I had to manually do it. Here we have the html switch helping it.
