Enough with the documentaries, we want action! This week: No Holds Barred Chosen by: cobretti - the man we'd all use our Who Wants To Be A Millionaire lifeline for if the question were about 80s action movies. Strangely specific, but true. Released: 1989 Starring: Hollywood Hulk Hogan and the big prisoner from the end of The Dark Knight Director: Thomas J Wright Producer: Vince McMahon and the Hulkster Writer: Dennis "The Hack" Hackin

No Holds Barred, starrting Hogan, kicks ass. Also female lead Joan Severence is a total babe who provided me many of my early in life boners.

I haven't seen the movie, but if it's half as good as the trailer, it's great.

Wow this was an old movie thread (over 2 years old). Still went back to watch this one, and it was surprisingly better than I expected: "First off, I have to say it; this is not a good movie. It has all the elements of a bad movie. It has lots of wrestlers as actors, it has a celebrity as the main character and he wrote the script, it has a generic plot about a network wanting a character to star on their network but opts out for the character's villain etc. All of this should make for a train-wreck of a film, but somehow Hulk Hogan saves it. He is not good in every movie he stars in (far from it), but maybe he found his niche in this film because his larger than life character works perfectly here. His mannerisms and the lovable tough guy attitude fits with the tone and audience. I cannot pinpoint exactly what it is, but it is entertaining as hell." 3/5 Now 3/5 will still get me in trouble with cobretti. Hopefully he'll understand one day that 3/5 is above average.

Hulk Hogan has the ability to save any movie, series, or cartoon, he can even save reality shows.

This review sucks. First, you talk about wrestlers as actors like its a bad thing. I enjoy movies way more if wrestlers are in them. Like The Rock in that episode of Star Trek: Voyager or Rowdy Roddy Pipper in Hell Comes to Frogtown, or Terry Funk playing goons in Road House and Over the Top. Second, Hogan rules. If a movie has Hogan, its like four stars because that is how much Hogan rules. No one was cooler than Hollywood Hogan in the 90's and you forgot to add a star modifier for his nWo run, so Hogan is an instant five stars. So, as you can see, this is a five out of five, no doubt about it. Also, as we all know, the IGN scale is king, and anything below an 8 is unacceptable, so scaling that to our star system here, you're saying the movie is unacceptable, and I won't stand for that. Now I'll leave you with Hogan on bass laying down a fat ass groove on Mean Gene's cover of "Rock n' Roll Hoochie Koo." BIG TIME EDIT: I forgot to add that one of the executive producers was one of the greatest Americans in the history of the world, Mr. Vince McMahon. Vinny Mac gave us the WWF, the greatest football league ever, the XFL, and he let President Donald Trump shave his head. His presence adds another star, so clearly this movie is a 6/5. Here is a picture of the top two Americans side by side.
