For the most part single player games and local multiplayer games are fine. The issue comes with social media or any other virtual outlets that act like social media. Those likes, comments, and replies, can really mess up any kid fast. That is not the kind of dopamine you want them to get addicted to, sadly it is the one harder to control. Even alcohol is easier to control than smart phones. We can only do our best.

Never saw him before in my life, wandered in, stood up, and left. I get bored easily. Then he left his Atari Lynx and his 7800 at my house for my son to play with. I don't know if that was a blessing or a curse... Still waiting on that Atari Box reveal though...

There's any date for the reveal yet? By what they're saying, it seems to be a big deal - not just an Atari mini or something. I'm guessing, by the comments on it being "PC based", they're going for some kind of Steam box - that is, PCs built under specifications by Atari. That would be my wild guess.

All consoles are PC based these days. So that doesn't tell us anything.

Read, Balder . Read. I literally just said that. I just wanted to add that the Steam Machines were bad. Yep. As most things done by Valve, it was a nice concept abandoned halfway. As I said, I'm just wild guessing: I wouldn't bet on Atari creating a full-fledged new console, and I also don't think they're going for another mini/retro machine. So I thought "hey, maybe they'll just release an Atari-branded pc with standard specifications provided by them", which was the concept of the Steam machines. But maybe there's someone there crazy enough to try an actual console. I would only be disappointed if it was an Atari mini or something, since we have already too many of those for Atari.

I used to emulate, but it's just not the same. I know the NES Classic is an emulator, but it's somehow nicer. I guess it's the interface, for one thing. That it plugs into the TV is another. And it has a nicer finish than the At-Games consoles. If Atari made something like that, I wouldn't be mad is all I'm saying.
