How was Brahma Force? It's been a while, but I actually picked up some PS1 and PS2 stuff... For the 9 covers and 8 manuals, I took the games out of the cases, because they were marked up and the games were scratched anyway. Also won a controller lot on eBay for just over $20. I really only wanted the GunCon, so everything else was a bonus... Not seen are 5 other controllers: Another Madcatz Dual Force 2 with a ripped thumb nub. Has a stripped screw, so I will need to get inventive to fix it. 2 wired Logitechs that both have both have analog issues. Can't seem to fix. A wireless Logitech I can't test because there is no receiver. And a smashed PS2 Dualshock that I can probably get working if I had a new shell to put it inside. Also, that other light gun has, apparently, never been used.

It got repetitive and hard fairly quickly, in annoying ways. Respawning enemies, lack of health pickups after the first level (that I've been able to find anyway), a heavy focus on exploration in maze like environments with a short time limit and a very close draw distance making it hard to see where you're going, all just made for a very stressful game to play. It has good controls and fairly good graphics, though with generic and uninspired designs for environments and enemies and with the already mentioned close draw distance it's still not a very exciting game to look at and you can get disoriented very easily despite having a map and radar at your disposal as nearly everything around you looks the same. It has a high and solid framerate and smooth customizable controls though, and I like the upgrade system where you find powerup pickups to enhance your mech's abilities a little bit, it's no Armored Core level of customization but you can power up your guns and stuff a little more than what you start off with, so it's something more than nothing. It's first person only but the controls are good enough that it's not much of a problem, even platforming is relatively easy to do, just look down a bit to see what's beneath you and I rarely had problems landing jumps even on small elevator platforms, you also have a small booster gauge you can use to stay airborne for a few extra seconds. It has a story, but I haven't been able to get a very good idea of what it is, something about a mining colony on an asteroid that's been attacked or something, it's mainly told over audio logs you find, somewhat similar to Doom 3 only not as good. The few cutscenes there are are mostly just short animations of the mech walking and feel very redundant and a waste of disc space that could've been used for something better. In short it's a game that is exactly the sum of its parts, not greater or less than, just exactly the sum of its parts. It doesn't do anything special in any good or bad ways, it just is what it is, nothing more, nothing less. It's a very average game overall but I'm glad I got to try it and add it to my collection. It may be worth checking out if you can find it cheap enough and really like mech games.
