I was watching Arrow the other day (don't judge, I know it's bad, but whatever), and some of the characters there are so rage-inducing because of their stupid and annoying decisions. Of course we have the god of terrible characters, Jar Jar Binks, but who else is just god damn terrible? My vote goes to Felicity from the before-mentioned show.

What?! I think Arrow is pretty good, and Jar Jar Binks isn't terribly worse than other Star Wars characters, the not-Yoda lady from episode 7 comes to mind now. Just talking about Arrow, I think Thea is the one that pisses me off the most, but I assume she's an intentionally annoying character. Now, if you allow me to go deeper, post-season 4 Juliette Silverton is the worst, most uninteresting character I've had the displeasure to know. *GRIMM SPOILERS*
She had been slowly developing into a more complex character up to that point in the show, and I was legitimately enjoying her growing issues as things became farther and farther from normality, but then they decided to kill her at the end of the season. That would have been fine if they hadn't decided to revive her as an emotionless monster for the next season... That's when I kind of moved away from the show, the story wasn't moving into interesting places anymore, and that was a bucket of cold water.

Obviously the worst non Jar Jar character of all time is either Wesley Crusher or Ensign Harry Kim from Star Trek.

Thea is pretty shit too, as well as Laurel, but Felicity actually used to be somewhat of a good-ish/okay character. In S3 and S4 she's unbearably in every scene she's in. I haven't got past S4 yet so I don't know what character your talking about.

Is this a character that we love to hate or just a bad character?

BalderOh so Felicity goes bad eventually? Well, that sucks. And Juliette is from Grimm in case there was a misunderstanding.

Arrow S1 and S2 are good (as good as a low-budget superhero show can be). Once you get through half of S3 things start to go downhill.

That must be the risk of running a long series. At some point the focus that makes the beginning insteresting is lost. Btw, despite the slow start and the fact that Capt. Cold doesn't remain in the returning cast for long, Flash must be the best superhero series I have ever watched. I know that the start is slow and lots of people got the impression it's garbage; but the long-term plots of each season have been all very, very good, specially due to the fact that Flash tends to be an overpowered hero in comparison to most others, and the challenges he faces are all up there with him in ways that no show/movie featuring Flash had done before.

If you like Captain Cold, you should watch Legends of Tomorrow.

Oh I did! But because the focus is spread among all the characters I just didn't get much from that one. It's a nice try, though. Which brings me to how Hawkman is apparently always the worst character in everything he's in. In Legends of Tomorrow the guy is so unbelievably lame his death makes the protagonist roster get better. I remember that in the animated series for Justice League the non-evil, regular ass Hawkman showed up in season 2, immediately making an ass of himself at minute 1, and doubling down on it until his very last minute onscreen. It's nuts how he often gets written as a huge loser.

This is a great topic. I am sure there are a lot of characters that I hated, but I can't come up with any other than Jar Jar. He has to take the top prize on anyone's list.

He's always mentioned in topics like this. Even when the rules said not to. Another character that just sucked balls as a comic relief character was the sidekick/adviser to the supervisor (or whatever his position was) of Laketown in The Hobbit movies. He was not from the book, and all he did was veing stereotypical sly-evil, weak and generally makes stupid decisions. God, so cringy when he dressed as a woman.

I really can't think of any. Just drawing a blank. But I tend to block out things that I hate, anyway. It does no good to dwell on them. That is, until a topic like this comes up and I have nothing to contribute. If only I were as hateful and bitter as Balder. We should all be so lucky.

I think the worst characters from a show are add in characters who were created to "freshen up" the series. Think of The Great Kazoo from the Flintstones or Scrappy Doo from Scooby Doo. I also don't like written in characters in shows that replace actors who are leaving the series. Josh Meyers from That 70s Show and Ashton Kutcher in 2 1/2 men. They never seem to get the chemistry right.
