Jared Leto is one great creepy villain. "Luv" isn't as good.

Jared Leto is one great creepy villain. "Luv" isn't as good. I once asked a girl to hang out with me for pizza and a movie. I bought a cheap $11 pepperoni pizza, and some coke, no alcohol whatsoever, then the movie I rented was Dallas Buyers Club, and somehow that combo worked, she became my girlfriend for the following 9 months, and I end up having one of the best times of my life. She was bisexual, and her friends were all extremely hot like her, she was the one that introduced me to get connections with Playboy, Penthouse, and Hustler, and we had a bunch of threesomes with her friends. Her only rule was that she had to be present, to never did anything behind her back, and I was fine with that. Eventually she had to move to New York, and everything ended, but those glory months can never be taken from me anymore. So yeah, I owe a lot to this Jared Leto guy, and his extremely gay movie. That guy truly deserved his Oscar. |

By the way, I rewatched it back-to-back with the original some time ago and it's impressive how well it holds up as a sequel. The tone, the themes, everything is just spot on. The only flaw I still find in 2049 is the lack of villains as fleshed out as Roy Batty, Pris, Leon and Zhora. Niander Wallace is on par with Tyrell, and Sapper (the first replicant that K kills) is a good expy for Leon, though with little screen time, but Luv was done just a bit too cold/clearly evil to be a great villain.
By the way, have you guys watched the shorts (2022, 2036, 2048)? Although 36 and 48 are mostly teasers for the main film, 2022 is a very well made anime short directed by Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop) that's important to get the backstory. I don't remember if we already talked about them, but here they are:

Cervantes the short films are fine, but I don't think any of them where that necessary. An animated show is supposedly in the works at some level now due to the animated short getting good reactions.
