If they port it to the NS, then I would prefer that for the cartridge format.
I wonder if they can pull off something like Super Mario Maker for the NS, it sounds like an impossible task.

I think they could, as they have it for the 3DS. Though the screen being capacitive touch rather than pressure-sensitive might make for some hiccups. It would be nice if they released a capacitive stylus with it for ease of use. For docked mode...I guess they could use the motion controls like World of Goo does, but I think most people would just undock it for level building.

I haven't tried the 3DS version, but I know the 3DS has the advantage of having two screens going simultaneously.
For the NS the only thing I can think of they could do is to say you're going to need an app on your phone like they do with most voice chat.

For two screens? I mean, they are doing that for both voice chat and parental controls, so not outside the realm of possibilities. Seems unlikely, since it runs into some of the same problems that would occur with the switch touch screen. Phones have capacitive touch screens, so would be a bit hard to get it going without a capacitive stylus.
Now that said...Since Nintendo is open to doing a limited number of mobile apps, I do actually think that Mario Maker would be a cool one to do, particularly if they had some cross play with a Switch version. Now, of course Mario Maker usually gets a full price release, but I could see a mobile app that could only be used for course building and uploading or, maybe if you were to buy the Switch version, you'd gain access to the App with your Nintendo login or something.
I don't play a lot of mobile games, but if I had some free time at work or something, building a Mario Maker level on my phone to try later would be pretty sweet.
-------- On that subject, since they are bringing out an enhanced version of New Super Mario Bros U for the Switch, I'm kind of sad that they didn't do a full compilation of 1, 2, Wii, U, and Luigi U. I still own the original. Would be nice to see the DS, 3DS and Wii entries in HD.

Perhaps it didn't occur to Nintendo either. It certainly would have been nice to have all of them bundled as a collection.

Xenoblade Chronicles X looks like it won't get a port to the Switch, so this seems to be one of the only exclusives to the system. Apparently it would cost to much to do it. I don't know if I buy that, but hey...Go Wii U!

I have just "inherited" some Wii games, despite not owning the console. They look like a good pick. Among this collection are:
Sonic and the Black Knight Monster Hunter Tri Resident Evil 4 Resident Evil umbrella chronicles Transformers Cybertronian Adventures (transformers r cool) Sega Bass Fishing. The Conduit 1 & 2
Project Zero 3 wii 007 Quantum of Solace
I like shooters and there's a few here. I always wanted to shoot with a wii-mote. Are these good enough excuses to get a Wii U (because I can see myself wanting the upgrade from the Wii)?
Otherwise, I can trade them in at ebGames, but I suspect they won't give me as much credit as they're worth. I'd have to do that before Feb 4, because that'a when they'll stop taking them.

Soo many games were promised for the WiiU that never made it including Yakuza 1&2 HD collection and Metal Gear Rising. glad the Switch is doing great and has become the most liked Nintendo console since the Snes.
I played Smash Bros Ultimate for the first time recently and played with my favourite character Sheik. I thought she was good in Brawl but in ultimate she is absolutely amazing. Loved it.

For Wii games, you won't really see a graphical upgrade when playing them on the Wii U, but it is nice to have HDMI natively instead of using an adapter or finding component cables. A used Wii U is pretty inexpensive these days, along with some of the games, so you might get some use out of it. And if you're in to that sort of thing, they're very easy to soft-mod.

RE4 port on Wii is one of the best versions, they did quite well with the motion controls. And yeah I'd say go for it since you have some good games already. Most of the Switch ports aren't even significantly better on Switch so you might also want some much cheaper Wii U versions of games like NSMBU and DKC Tropical Freeze.

Just to add to the previous, I played around quite a bit with my Wii U in the last 2 weeks or so.
I'd had it soft-modded for Wii U games for a while, but I thought I'd take the plunge and get the 'Virtual Wii' within the Wii U soft modded as well. It went quite smoothly, even easier than when I did the soft-modding for my original Wii.
Since micro SD cards had been coming down in price, I thought I'd see if I could get my GameCube, WiiWare, and Wii games all up and running off the SD slot, and then just leave the external hard drive for Wii U games (since I have not found a way to partition it for both).
Unfortunately, this was only semi-successful. The Gamecube and WiiWare games ran flawlessly from the micro sd card, but it was very hit or miss which Wii games would boot up. Fortunately, I had an extra small external drive handy, so I moved the Wii games over there and they run just fine. The only downside is that I have to switch between external drives depending on if I want to play Wii or Wii U games, but it is still less of a hassle than digging out my original Wii.
I did have the original Wii out long enough to rip the contents of my GameCube memory cards though, and then I was able to transfer them over to the SD card for use with the Wii U. Nice to have the old save files. I'm just waiting on delivery of one of the GameCube 4-port adapters for the Wii U/Switch. If that ends up working properly for GameCube games, I think I will finally give away or sell my original Wii.

Imperial Khador, Do you know off hand if the Wii U has a cap on SD card memory? I know that is an easy Google search, but soft mods can change that.
