Looking back at this thread I can't believe scipioafricanus got away by saying Groundhog Day isn't the best Bill Murray movie ever made.
Anyways, this movie sucks (Scrooged). Guys, if you go back and watch this movie today, you'll see how poorly it has aged. I had a friend over for our Christmas marathon, and I'm embarrassed by picking this movie. He chose some awful ones as well though so it balances. Here's my review:
"Bill Murray is hilarious and Richard Donner has made some okay movies, but god damn this movie was disappointing. I have not seen a Christmas Carol adaptation for a while and thought it would be fun to watch this one since Murray usually brings it home. This movie is just cringeworthy and unfunny all the way through. Due to being so unfunny, it seems like it lasts an eternity too. There are so many comedies that has aged poorly over the years, and this is definitely one of them. Murray is all over the place with over-acting and it does not suit him one bit. Murray is on his funniest when he is calm and in control. His performance in this could not be farther from it. Apparently Murray hated working on this movie with the director, and it is so obvious to me now after having read that fact. Watch literally any other Christmas Carol adaptation." 1.5/5
