This Week: In TimeChosen by: spidershinobi and stratogustav I hadn't heard of this one, but the film sounds wild: "In a future where time is money and the wealthy can live forever, Will Salas (Justin Timberlake) is a poor man who rarely has more than a day's worth of life on his time clock. When he saves Henry Hamilton (Matt Bomer) from time thieves, Will receives the gift of a century." Released: 2011 Starring: N'Sync Director: Andrew Niccol Producer: Andrew Niccol, Marc Abraham, Amy Israel, Kristel Laiblin, Eric Newman Writer: Andrew Niccol Everyone is forever 25, but is anyone in the cast actually under 30? Discuss!

I thought this movie was going to be crap. I mean, Justin Timberlake is the main actor so my expectations were low.
But I guess that is why I end up enjoying this movie so much, having low expectations, and going in blind without spoilers made this movie one of my favorites.
It has one of the best ever written plots for a sci-fi movie because they are talking about something so unreal that it is yet extremely on par with actual reality that if you have any kind of sensitivity, it will get to you.
This movie is definitely one of my top 50 movies of all time for the plot alone. It leaves you wanting more movies in the like after you finish watching it, and I always recommend it to people.
P.S.: Dan wrote starring N*Sync, LOL!

I've never seen this one either, but the grades, the "Starring: N'Sync" bit and the comment about the actors' ages were awesome! Dan E. Kool was really inspired in this one. spidershinobi and stratogustav both suggested this one by pure coincidence or were they inspired by the spirit of the 90s boybands?

That's exactly why this movie works! This movie contains a few plotholes, but when you consider how absurd the setting is and how it could tie with our society, it suddenly turns into a genius' idea! People who are into dystopic stories will definitely dig this one at least for the premise and how important it is for the movie, but I can see movie nerds over analyzing this til it's ruined for them. And to answer Cervantes, I saw Justin, I saw Amanda... Damn! They've got some sexy backs!

I actually like 4 Minutes and It's Gonna Be Me. Both Justin and N*Sync have some good songs.
By the way, Olivia Wild is sexy as fuck. She is one hot MILF in that movie.

I remember seeing a trailer for it when it was coming out but never bothered to see it. For some reason I thought Matt Damon was the star in this movie for the longest time, mandela effect I guess.

Matt Damon works in a similar kind of movie called Elysium. That's probably where the confusion comes from. It is likely people end up talking about both movies in the same discussion.

What a coincidence, we all talking about Justin Timberlake and he shows up for the NFL Superbowl half-time show.

I actually saw this in cinemas. Loved the premise and the "arm wrestling". Also the counters on the arms were cool but ultimately it was just okay.

I'm sorry, but this just wasn't any good:
"From the same guy who made Gattaca comes another "what-if" science fiction dystopian movie. This time however it is even less believable, more convoluted and does not make any sense. I have so many question about how this society would ever work. With Gattaca, as long as you could accept the weird premise, it was a great movie. With In Time however, it fails to stay consistent at any level. Some of the things that bothers me the most is how people die just all of a sudden because they forget to keep track of their time, how the director does not know how guns work (the bullets never ever penetrates anything or leave any marks), characters motivations are never explained and their actions are so dumb. Since this is a science fiction film one would think they would explain at least to some degree how this currency works, but no, there is just some unknown force that kills people once their timer runs out. In Time also tries to give some commentary on capitalism, but it comes out in the worst possible way. This is simply stated a mess of a movie that could have been saved with great execution as the premise is so ridiculous but in a fun way. Unfortunately the director or writer must have run out of time to slap together something good." 1.5/5

I have so many question about how this society would ever work. Basically the way it works right now in real life, except this was a satire of it.
