An actually good suggestion from Balder ? Am I dreaming? This Week: Demolition Man Chosen by: Balder Released: 1993 Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes Director: Marco Brambilla Producer: Joel Silver, Howard Kazanjian, Michael Levy Writer: Daniel Waters, Robert Reneau, Peter M. Lenkov The Wikipedia page for this movie has some interesting information about casting plans that fell through, like Jean Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal originally intended for the lead role. Jackie Chan was tapped for the villain but turned it down. Also, this fantastic description of the ending: He then kisses Huxley (which she finds enjoyable) and the two go off together.

I felt like this was a very Pub-esque movie. Not perfect, but still pretty damn good. Here's my Letterboxd review:
"Demolition Man predicts a very dystopian future, even though it is hilarious at times (especially with the swear fining running gag), it is almost to the point where it is unbelievable. However, it is not to be taken very serious, and is very entertaining. Stallone and Snipes complements each other very well, and I can see where The Expendables got their style for Stallone from. Action scenes are great too. Overall great blast from the past." 4/5

Admit it Balder. You only suggested this excellent Stallone/Wesley Pipes movie because you’re trying to deflect from recent accusations that you’re an anti American/Stallone subversive. I see you. WE see you. You will answer for your actions one day. Anyway, Demoltion Man rules. It has Stallone, which already makes the movie rule. Add it Wesley Snipes, and it makes it a top 5 action movie of the 90s. Putting it over the top, if you will, is a special guest cameo by MTV Sports legend Dan Cortese, who you may remember from an episode of Seinfeld as the guy who told George to ‘step off’. Both Stallone and Snipes display powerful and rippling physiques. We see a future where Taco Bell food might not give you violent and wet bowel movements that would require more than three seashells to clean up. Stallone eats a rat burger, which is cool. All in all, Demolition Man rules. Another of the many classic Stallone films. 5/5. I would ding it for a Stallone butt in the beginning, but I’ll let it slide.

I loved this movie when it came out on television. I loved it so much that it is one of the few movies for which I still remember things that happened within the movie. There are only a few movies that can do that. Usually I would remember liking a movie or not, but rarely I remember what happens within the movie.

I'm guessing your toilet doesn't love you. I know Taco Bell well enough that I never use mine after dining there.

It's fucking weird that it's changed to Pizza Hut in the European release. No mention of Taco Bell. Everything is changed to Pizza Hut.

In their defense, pizza beats mexican food any day.

I like Pizza Hut more than Taco Bell. I have tried some Mexican food that is definitely better than most pizza, but I have also tried pizza that is better than most Mexican food.
